Plus 1 makes new appointment

Integrated communications agency, Plus 1 Communications has appointed Jenna Stirland to the role of Account Manager. With over six years of experience in PR, Jenna previously worked across brands such as Nouveau Lashes and Kryolan Professional Make-up in the UK, before moving to Dubai and most recently working across projects such as Dubai Food Festival and the launch of Dubai Opera. In her new role, she will focus on managing clients in the beauty, education and entertainment sectors.

“Jenna has a strong background in consumer PR, working with some amazing brands in both in Dubai and the UK,” says Anna Hope, Managing Director, Plus 1 Communications. “She will be a great addition to our young team and we’re looking forward to seeing her develop as the business continues to grow this year.”

Start wins at Transform MENA Awards 2017

Consumer experience design consultancy, Start was awarded the Grand Prix at the Transform MENA Awards 2017 last night at the Waldorf Astoria, Palm Jumeirah. The event also saw Start win five gold and four silver awards including Best place or nation brand, Best visual identity for travel, leisure and tourism sector, Best use of typography and Best internal communications during a brand development project for their work on the rebrand of Yas Island. The event aimed to recognise the best practice in corporate, product and global brand development across categories such as strategy, execution, content and evaluation across the region. 

“We are thrilled to have been awarded the Grand Prix at this years Transform Awards for our work with creating the new brand identity for Yas Island,” says Mike Curtis, Start, Group President. “We liberate the way people engage with the brands they love, increasing lifetime value, which increase the volume and value of sales.”

Nermine Kashef joins Plus 1 Communications

Plus 1 Communications has appointed Nermine Kashef to the role of Account Manager. With over seven years of experience in PR, Nermine has previously worked for companies including Al Ghurair Investments, Sobha Development and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. She was most recently Assistant Publications and Communications Manager at the Burj Al Arab and in her new role, Nermine will manage accounts across Dubai for the agency, providing an Arabic perspective for clients.

“With Nermine’s extensive experience and knowledge of the region from working with the likes of Jumeirah’s flagship hotel, the Burj Al Arab, she will be a valuable asset to the Plus 1 Communications team,” says Anna Hope, Managing Director, Middle East, Plus 1 Communications.
