What’s On launches Good Morning Dubai

What’s On magazine has launched a new daily social media segment called ‘Good Morning Dubai’. Presented by Online Features Editor – Video, Tom Bushell, the content will be available on the publication’s Instagram Stories each morning from Sunday to Thursday and will detail everything an audience needs to know for that day in Dubai including news, new launches, concerts and great offers.

“In the ever-changing way that an audience consumes content, we felt that to have something bite-size in the morning that sets people up for the day would sit nicely in the Dubai market,” says Tom Bushell, Online Features Editor – Video, Motivate Publishing. Little bits of information people can use and be reminded of. The hope is that Good Morning Dubai will become a 60-second must-see watch for anyone looking to be in-the-know each day of the week.”


Motivate Publishing hires Tom Bushell

Motivate Publishing has appointed Tom Bushell to the role of Online Features Editor – Video. With a wealth of experience in presenting and reporting, Tom previously worked with Dubai 92 and most recently, as a freelancer for CNN and BT Sport in the UK. In his new role, Tom will be fronting digital content and story telling.

Motivate and Vamp form new partnership

Motivate Publishing has partnered with influencer marketing platform, Vamp as a part of its digital expansion plan across the MENA region. The new partnership will grant Motivate access to the industry’s most effective creative talent through Vamp’s influencer platform. The agreement will also see the Vamp platform ensure that campaigns are designed for maximum impact, using a highly curated selection process that considers brand values, authentic audience reach and creative content.

Jamie O’Loane joins Motivate

Motivate Publishing has appointed Jamie O’Loane to the role of Senior Sales Manager of Emirates’ inflight magazine, Open Skies. With nine years of experience in sales, Jamie previously worked with ITP Media Group, as Sales Executive of MEP Middle East magazine before being promoted to Regional Sales Manager of the title, where he managed the print and online sales alongside event sponsorship. In his new role, he will manage Open Skies’ accounts across the GCC market as well as on an international scale with target countries including the US, Japan, Thailand, Russia and Australia.

“This new role has given me a new challenge and a chance to utilise my skills within the consumer market on a global scale,” says Jamie. “Emirates airlines is one of the biggest companies within the region and to work on its brand and titles was an opportunity I couldn’t refuse. Jennifer Gibson goes freelance

Jennifer Gibson, former Editor of good magazine, part of Motivate Publishing has gone freelance. Having joined Motivate in 2016, Jennifer has over 15 years of experience in journalism and has worked on as well as contributed to a number of titles including VIVA, Hello! Middle East, What’s On Dubai, Emirates Man, Emirates Woman, Jumeirah, The National, The Telegraph and Gulf News. She also worked in broadcasting as News Presenter and Commentator on Dubai 92 as well as Dubai Eye. Following her relocation to the UK, she will continue to work across publications in the UAE and UK as a freelance Editor.

“It has been an honour to edit good magazine since August 2016, to work with an incredible team of brilliant people and to meet so many of the innovators, entrepreneurs, environmental activists and charity campaigners who are doing so much to take community life here in Dubai forward,” says Jennifer. “The time has come for us to make a move to be closer to our families, but I look forward to continuing to work with so many of the brilliant editors and journalists I’ve met during my time here – and to the opportunities my continuing work here will allow for lots of visits to escape the Scottish weather!”

Heba Abdalla joins Motivate Publishing

Motivate Publishing has appointed Heba Abdalla to the role of Senior Digital Editor. With over 12 years of digital media experience in the region, Heba most recently worked with Savior Flair Arabic as Managing Editor, where she headed the magazine’s Arabic website, In her new role, she will be managing a number of Arabic digital launches for Motivate’s lifestyle and business division including the upcoming launch of Emirates Woman Arabiya.

BNC Publishing appoints new Group Director

Dubai-based publishing agency, BNC Publishing has appointed Samer Alloush to the role of Group Director. With over eight years of experience in the media industry, Samer previously worked with ITP and then Motivate, where he handled local and international agencies and most recently worked with Plan B Advertising, offering solutions ranging from media planning and execution to project management. In his new role, he will oversee the editorial and commercial growth of BNC Publishing’s hospitality publications and platforms by managing all sales activities and the editorial team for Catering News ME, Hotel News ME, Leader in Hospitality Awards, GM Debate, Leader in F&B Awards, F&B Forum and Executive Housekeepers Conference.

New Editor-in-Chief at Men’s Health ME and Women’s Health ME

ITP Media Group has appointed Danae Mercer to the role of Editor-in-Chief of Men’s Health Middle East and Women’s Health Middle East. Danae previously worked as a freelance journalist writing for CNN Travel, The Sunday Times, Afar, Shape magazine, Bloomberg Pursuits and others, and doing radio for the BBC World Service. Before freelancing, Danae was with Motivate Publishing as Editor of Jumeirah Magazine, where she oversaw publication production and worked closely with Jumeirah Group to shape the overall direction of its magazine. In her new role, she will oversee all editorial content of both titles and contribute to their brand development across the Middle East. She will also create cutting edge features to highlight the brand’s image and recognition across the region. Danae will be expanding WHME and MHME’s online brands as well.

Motivate Publishing welcomes Tamara Djorem

Motivate Publishing has appointed Tamara Djorem to the role of Senior Sales Manager for good magazine. Tamara brings with her five years of sales experience haven most recently worked with ITP Media Group as Sales Manager for it’s consumer magazines OK! Middle East and Ahlan!. In her new role, she will be responsible for driving sales for good magazine and executing bespoke events for its clients across the region.

Motivate appoints new Features Editor

Motivate Publishing has appointed Greg Synnott to the role of Features Editor for What’s On Magazine. With over seven years of editorial experience, Greg has worked freelance with several publications as well as launched his independent music website in Ireland, and most recently worked at Fairfax Media, New Zealand, as Social Media Producer for In his new role, Greg will curate content and relevant monthly features for several sections under the title.
