Eleanor Dickinson joins Motivate

Motivate Publishing has welcomed Eleanor Dickinson to the role of Reporter, working across Gulf Business and Campaign Middle East. This is Eleanor’s first role in Dubai, she previously worked in the UK as a Trainee News Reporter for The Cambridge News, covering everything from crime to politics to punting wars and royal visits. As a reporter for Gulf Business, Eleanor will be writing news and features on major developments in the business and technology industries in the Middle East. For Campaign Middle East she will be covering news within the advertising, PR and media industries as well as writing more in-depth pieces on the subjects.

“I am thrilled to be exploring these new journalistic challenges with Motivate in Dubai,” says Eleanor. “I’m really looking forward to reporting on many of the great stories the UAE has to offer.”

The Media Network welcomes Alison Towle

Alison Towle has joined The Media Network as Sales and Events Director. With seven years of experience in media and sales in the UAE, across local and international newspapers, magazines and digital media, Alison most recently held the role of Advertising Director at the Grazia Group, part of ITP Publishing. As Sales and Events Director, she will oversee all sales for the TMN website and its many brand extensions.

“I have watched The Media Network go from a great idea, to an essential resource in its two-year lifespan,” says Alison. “The brand is well respected, which has brought demand for partnerships and cross-promotional activity – and that’s where I come in! I’m very excited about the doors still left to open for The Media Network, and look forward to being part of its growth.”

 

Chris Lambert joins Q Communications

Q Communications has welcomed Chris Lambert to the role of Senior Account Executive. With five years of experience, working in PR and in-house marketing, Chris most recently worked as Marketing Director for nightlife spot Societe in Dubai. As Senior Account Executive, he will be working across a number of PR accounts for Q Communications, such as Novotel Dubai, Al Barsha and Jumeirah Restaurant Group.

“I’m extremely excited to be joining the newly rebranded Q Communications at such a key time for the company,” says Chris. “I am especially looking forward to working on such a diverse and exciting portfolio of clients.”

Create Media Group welcomes new Director

Dubai-based digital communications agency Create Media Group has welcomed Sarah Johnson to the role of Director. Heading up new division Create Content, Sarah brings over 17 years of public relations and communications experience to her new role. As Director, she will be responsible for growing the division and offering clients engaging, diverse and eye-catching content across a 360 platform that includes traditional media as well as digital and social media platforms. Create Media Group’s clients include Standard Chartered Bank, Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi and Flash Entertainment.

“Clients are all working very differently now, with integrated campaigns and creative content, not conventional PR campaigns, being the key to effective communication,” says Sarah. “With the launch of Create Content, the Create Media Group will offer just that.”

Nashwa Al Ruwaini named in Forbes Middle East

Nashwa Al Ruwaini, CEO of Pyramedia Production Company, has been named on Forbes Middle East magazine’s list of Most Powerful Arab Women 2015. As 23rd on the list of 200, Nashwa is the first figure from the media industry to be included.The award was presented as part of a ceremony held at the Oberoi, Dubai, to recognise the achievements of women in business and government. Other women recognised include Mona Almoayyed, Managing Director of YK Almoayyed & Sons, Bahrain; Amna BinHendi, Deputy Chair, BinHendi Group UAE and Shaikha Al Maskari, Chair, Al Maskari Holdings, UAE.

Phil Smith joins Motivate

Phil Smith has joined Motivate Publishing as Group Sales Manager for its content marketing agency, Motivate Connect. With 15 years of experience in writing and selling country reports to various international business publications such as Time Magazine, Fortune Magazine and The Economist, Phil most recently worked on a short sponsored documentary for British Airways on Egypt.

As Group Sales Manager for Motivate Connect, Phil will be responsible for winning new business from clients looking for content across print, digital and social media channels. The role covers a range of media solutions including magazines, annual reports, show collateral, sporting programs and digital content.

“I am very excited to be joining Motivate Publishing and look forward to making a positive impact on the team’s performance,” says Phil. “Motivate Connect has delivered products in many different languages and as a linguist myself, speaking five languages, I hope to get involved in adding a further international dimension to the team.”
