Forever Sports Middle East launches

Forever Sports Middle East has launched in Dubai. The regional edition of the dedicated monthly sports and lifestyle publication, originally from Haymarket publishing in the UK, will be published in Dubai by White Fox Publishing. Aimed at the region’s male, 18–40 year old audience, the title will cover all things sports as well as subjects ranging from technology through to fashion and grooming.

The title will be available in both English and Arabic and will have an initial print run of 20,000 copies across the UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Forever Sports Middle East will be available in sports retail outlets and superstores, as well as sports bars and clubs, for AED15.

“We offer our readers a variety of content that no other magazine delivers, from mainstream sports such as football, athletics, cricket, tennis and boxing, to increasingly popular American sports such as American football and basketball,” says Noel Ebdon, Editor in Chief, Forever Sports Middle East. “Interviews with all of the biggest personalities are crucial in our editorial mix – with personality being the operative word here – we’re not interested in media-trained bores. The first few editions of Forever Sports in the UK in 2016 included shoots with Ronaldo, Amir Kahn, Joe Hart and Anthony Joshua, but we’re also interested in ordinary people, so we’ll be talking to local sports people of all nationalities who are pushing the boundaries in their field.”

CNN named number one international news channel

CNN International is the number one international news channel in daily, weekly and monthly reach, according to the Ipsos Affluent Survey Middle East. The independent industry research study shows that the CNN International TV channel reaches 20% of the Middle East’s elite population every month and this reach increases to 28% when CNN International‘s digital properties are added to the scale of linear TV.

“CNN has made a sustained commitment to the Middle East for many years now,” says Rani Raad, President, CNN International Commercial.”We launched CNN Arabic and have continued to invest in the service; in the last year we have unveiled new studios and facilities at our major production hubs in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and we have moved our flagship show Connect the World to be produced and broadcast from the region. We are proud that our approach across TV and digital continues to resonate with Middle Eastern audiences as well as our commercial partners across the region.”

Vice and Moby partner in the Middle East

Youth media and content creation studio, VICE Media has partnered with media and communications group, MOBY Group to launch VICE’s digital and mobile programming in the MENA region. The partnership will give the company access to MOBY’s knowledge in the local markets and will bring with it the opening of local production studios across the region, the hiring of journalists and filmmakers as well as the airing of tailored local news and lifestyle programming.

“There’s no question that the Middle East is one of the promising emerging digital markets in the world right now,” says Saad Mohseni, Chairman and Group CEO, MOBY Group. “There’s a massive young audience in the Middle East and North Africa that’s intensely engaged in the debates and stories happening around them—but no one is focused on offering them the immersive, locally produced content that they want. VICE, under visionary leadership of Shane, has successfully captured the mind and heart of the youth across the globe. We have been collaborating with VICE for many years, and now through MOBY’s formal partnership with VICE we look forward to filling a vital void and reaching the digitally savvy young generation with content that matters to them.”
