CPI Financial appoints Chief Executive Officer

Robin Amlôt has joined CPI Financial as Chief Executive Officer. In his new role, Robin will be reporting to the Board of Directors in setting up policy and strategy, as well as managing the company’s sales, editorial and administration teams. Before this promotion, he was with CPI as Managing Editor, a role in which he was responsible for the launch of three new magazine titles: Banker Africa, WEALTH Arabia and FinanceME. Before joining CPI, Robin was a lecturer at The Open University – a distance learning and research university.

“It is an exciting and challenging role that I take on, and I look forward to building on the success of my predecessor, Adam Broom,” says Robin. “We have opportunities to grow the market presence of our magazines and to expand our product range –it’s going to be fun!”

The Indian Trumpet welcomes Sabin Muzaffar

Sabin Muzaffar has joined The Indian Trumpet as Bollywood Columnist. In her new role, Sabin will be writing in-depth entertainment columns on the art of Bollywood movie-making, tracing from its routes to global success. Prior to joining The Indian Trumpet she worked as a freelance contributor for ITP Publishing and ,more recently, as an Executive Editor at Ananke

Ibrahim Mougharbel joins Instinctif Partners

Ibrahim Mougharbel has been appointed Senior Regional Consultant at Instinctif Partners. He will work on assignments across various markets including those in the UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman, specialising in real estate, oil and gas, healthcare, financial services, private sector growth companies and government relations.

Prior to joining Instinctif, Ibrahim worked with Edelman in the UAE as a Senior Account Manager, working with clients including Sky News Arabia, Mubadala and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB). He graduated from Saint Joseph University in Beirut with a BA in Business and Management.

New joiners at Motivate Publishing

Changes have been been made to the Motivate team in the form of two new joiners. Shruti Srivastava has rejoined the company as Senior Sales Manager to Open Skies magazine. Shruti worked with the Open Skies team until three years ago, when she left to join digital company Onurfingers as Marketing Manager. Most recently she was Senior Sales Manager at ITP Publishing before rejoining Motivate.

Jessica Lane has joined Motivate as Deputy Sales Manager assigned to Good magazine. Jessica has 11 years of work experience in the UK, nine of which are in advertising sales.

Changes to the Gulf News Publishing team

There have been a number of changes to the Gulf News Publishing team in fashion and beauty. Lindsay Judge will be Acting Fashion Director and Natascha Hawke will be Acting Fashion Editor while Danielle Elmes-Hughes is on maternity leave until September. Lindsay was previously in the role of Group Fashion Editor working across a number of Gulf News magazines, including Aquarius, alpha, Friday and Watch Time. Prior to this, Lindsay was the Fashion and Beauty Editor for Ahlan! at ITP Publishing Group. Natascha was previously a freelance writer and stylist in the UK. Prior to that, she was the Editor of Velvet magazine in the UAE. Both will be covering their roles across all Gulf News Publishing publications, including Friday, Aquarius and alpha.

Amrita Divecha has also joined in the position of Fashion Assistant. Before joining Gulf News Publishing, she was Office Manager at Namshi.com where she was involved in the complete set up of Namshi offices and warehouses.

Lucy Smith joins Performance Communications

Sports and automotive specialist agency Performance Communications has appointed Lucy Anna Smith as Associate Account Director. In her new role, Lucy will be heading up the agency’s Hyundai and Continental Tires accounts across the Middle East.

Lucy has previously worked in the UK with the Ford Motor Company. She has seven years of experience in the PR industry and has worked for leading consumer agencies in London handling accounts for globally-renowned brands such as Radox and Southern Comfort. More recently, she moved to the UAE to manage corporate communications for BMW Group Middle East and MINI Middle East.

Rahul Odedra joins Bloomberg Businessweek ME

Rahul Odedra has joined Bloomberg Businessweek Middle East (ME) as Deputy Editor. He will be working on the fortnightly publication under Editor Cathal McElroy.

Rahul previously worked as Editor of HotelierMiddleEast.com at ITP Publishing and contributed as Deputy Editor at Hotelier Middle East magazine. Prior to moving to Dubai in 2014, Rahul was based in the UK, working across different titles including Professional Adviser and The Moodie Report.

Masala! welcomes new Editor-in-Chief

Sonya Rehman has joined Masala! magazine as Editor-in-Chief, heading the weekly publication in print and online. For over 12 years, Sonya has been writing on Pakistani art and culture for a host of publications and newspapers, as well as international websites and magazines such as The Diplomat MagazineThe Wall Street Journal – Scene Asia and Al Jazeera.

Sonya is a Fullbright scholar and has an MS in Print Journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in New York.

Sept PR welcomes Natalie Scott

Natalie Scott has joined Sept PR as Account Manager, prior to joining she was Account Manager at Bacchus PR, a London-based luxury lifestyle agency.

In her new role Natalie will manage F&B as well as lifestyle brands for Sept PR, working with clients on creative and high-impact consumer campaigns, as well as new business and social media strategy for current and new accounts.

“Sept PR is a dynamic agency working on some of the most exciting F&B and lifestyle brands in Dubai, which is what attracted me to the position,” says Natalie. “In just a few short weeks, I feel right at home and am looking forward to using my skills and experience to help drive the company forward.”

Aylissa joins the Dubai 92 Breakfast Show

Aylissa Boyce will join the Dubai 92 Breakfast Show alongside long-running presenter Catboy, upon his return to the radio show on 12 April 2015. The show will retain all of its listener’s favourite segments from the previous Breakfast show lineup, as well as some new features courtesy of its new co-presenter.

Aylissa has joined Dubai 92 from Aberdeen, Scotland where she hosted Northsound 1’s Breakfast show, and presented its Showbiz and Football show every Saturday.

“I’m incredibly excited to be in the UAE,” says Aylissa. “Dubai 92 is a great station with a really strong listener base and I can’t wait to join the amazing team there, this is an exciting new challenge for me and I’m looking forward to giving it my all.”
