markettiers officially appoints Rachel Lewis

Having worked with markettiers since June 2017 as freelance Senior Account Executive, Rachel Lewis has now officially been appointed to the role of Senior Account Executive. Rachel previously worked with Edelman DABO, where she was an integral member of the consumer team across technology, entertainment and arts, and culture sectors. In her new role, she will work on key projects with both PR agencies and directly with clients on broadcast-driven campaigns and consumer activations, across industry sectors. She will also support the team with creative consultancy across content creation, managing the production and delivery of this content and undertaking targeted media relations that ensure campaigns deliver for both clients, brands and media owners.

New promotion at TishTash

TishTash Marketing and Public Relations promotes Marwa Mohamed to the role of PR Account Executive. Having joined the agency in January 2017 as PR Assistant, Marwa will continue to work on TishTash’s portfolio of beauty brands, including Rahua, Rodial, Cyclelogicals and The Organic Pharmacy.

Marriott International appoints Sarah Walker Kerr

Marriott International has appointed Sarah Walker Kerr to the role of Vice President of Communications Middle East and Africa. Sarah previously worked with Armani Hotels and Resorts, part of Emaar Hospitality Group as Director of Public Relations and most recently with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company as Regional Director of Public Relations Middle East, Africa, India and Japan. In her new role, she will be responsible for devising and implementing the overall communications strategy for Marriott International across the region by driving visibility and enhancing the perception of the company, and its brands as well as increasing its voice in the media. She will also provide counsel to the senior executive leadership team and manage crises communications, reputation management, brand communications as well as internal and external communications.

Yi-Hwa Hanna joins Edelman Dabo

Edelman Dabo has appointed Yi-Hwa Hanna to the role of Senior Content Manager. Bringing with her a wealth of experience in journalism, Yi-Hwa previously worked with ITP Media Group, as Deputy Editor for Good Housekeeping Middle East and most recently as Editor-in-Chief of Women’s Health Middle East. In her new role, she will be working with the brand teams on content management, strategy and creation.

Bauer Works welcomes Vineetha Menon

Bauer Works has appointed Vineetha Menon to the role of Digital Editor. Vineetha has worked with several local media brands including Aficionado, Dubai Calendar and ITP Media Group’s publication, Time Out Dubai. She most recently worked with NPI Media as Senior Editor, where she worked across the Concierge luxury and lifestyle portfolio. In her new role, she will work with the content team at the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) for VisitDubai.com and related channels with the aim of ensuring visitors remain up to date on the best places to eat, where to shop, things to do and what to experience while in Dubai.

Jason O’Connell joins The Big 5 Hub

Construction brand, The Big 5 Hub, part of dmg events has appointed Jason O’Connell to the role of Editor. Jason was previously Editor at Construction Business News Middle East, a publication of BNC Publishing and will now take on his new role at The Big 5 Hub, where he will be responsible for the brand’s website as well as The Big 5 Hub Quarterly magazine. He will also handle the brand’s other publications Preview and The Big 5 Show Daily, which features the region’s construction trade show, conferences and other related events.

New Chief Marketing Officer at General Motors ME

General Motors has appointed Molly Peck to the role Chief Marketing Officer for the Middle East. With over 20 years of experience in working with General Motors, Molly has worked across several automotive brands including Chevrolet as Director of Advertising and Sales Promotion, and most recently with Buick as Director of Marketing. In her new role, she will be responsible for all marketing and customer experience strategies as well as programs for the GMC and Chevrolet brands across ten Middle East markets where General Motors operates. She will also handle the brand communications, advertising, digital marketing, retail experience and customer engagement of the automotive brands in the region.

New joiner at Coffee Communications

Coffee Communications has appointed Augustine Paredes to the role of Creative Assistant and Graphic Designer. Augustine previously worked in Sweden with Photowall as Photo Editor and the Philippines with Art Personas Ink as Art Director before moving to the UAE and most recently working with Hyku D Photography as Photographer and Videographer. In his new role, he will become an integral part of the creative content development at Coffee Communications and help in strengthening as well as growing strong visual content and creative copywriting as the foundation of the agency’s output across social media, marketing and public relations.

Yi-Hwa Hanna steps down at Women’s Health

After eight years with ITP Media Group, Yi-Hwa Hanna is moving on from her position as Editor-in-Chief of Women’s Health Middle East. Yi-Hwa joined ITP Media Group in 2010 and worked across a number of publications including VIVA Magazine as Features Editor and Good Housekeeping Middle East as Deputy Editor before taking on her most recent role of Editor-in-Chief at Women’s Health Middle East. Having been a key member of Women’s Health Middle East’s launch team and as a part of her role, she conceptualised the features of the magazine from start to finish, worked with emerging talents in the creative fields, handled photoshoots and represented the brand on several occasions to lead it towards becoming one of the region’s most recognised titles.

Yi-Hwa will be moving on to a full-time position in content management at a leading agency, and continue to work on her lifestyle blog, intotheether.me, where she will write and feature contributors time to time on a number of thought-provoking topics, interesting information, practical advice and inspirational stories.

Duha Shabib joins Galeries Lafayette and BHV MARAIS

Galeries Lafayette and LE BHV MARAIS, part of the Galeries Lafayette Group has appointed Duha Shabib to the role of PR and Social Media Manager. Duha previously worked with Hill+Knowlton Strategies as Account Executive and most recently with Chalhoub Group as Senior PR Executive, where she handled the Group’s concepts stores including, TRYANO, Wojooh and Tanagra. In her new role she will be managing all communications and social media platforms for Galeries Lafayette and BHV MARAIS. She will also be responsible for promoting the brands different categories including, interior design, food, women and men’s fashion across the region.
