House of Comms welcomes Anoushka Talukdar

Integrated communications agency House of Comms has appointed Anoushska Talukdar to the role of Senior Account Manager. Born and raised in Dubai, Anoushka has gained over nine years of international experience working for PR agencies such as Ketchum and Asda’a Burson-Marsteller, with clients such as Hilton, Accor and Qatar Airways. As Senior Account Manager, Anoushka will form part of House of Comms’ team of Senior Consultants, where she will be working specifically on the agency’s hospitality accounts.

“I knew instinctively the House of Comms was the agency for me and the focus of my role within the hospitality division is perfectly suited,” says Anoushka. “With my dream client portfolio and the refreshing approach taken by House of Comms to ensure we deliver incredible results at every level, I could not be more excited about this role.”

2015 SABRE Awards EMEA winners announced

The 2015 SABRE Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Awards were held on 21 May, 2015 at The Roundhouse in London. Over 650 PR professionals from the EMEA region attended the ceremony to celebrate the winners, selected from 2,400 entries.

Among the agencies to have won were Roche Lebanon with Memac Ogilvy Public Relations for their Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, Al Baik with TRACCS for their Park it Right campaign, Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange with Weber Shandwick for their The DGC-X-Factor! How DGCX Transformed its Regional and Global Profile campaign and Canon with DABO & CO for the Canon Cabast trade show. UN Women with Memac Ogilvy Public Relations – Dubai, were also nominated as finalists for the Platinum Sabre award for Best in Show for their campaign, The Autocomplete Truth.

Global agency Weber Shandwick won five awards in total on the night, with Memac Ogilvy winning three. Ketchum was presented with four awards for its clients, and Burson-Marsteller and Edelman (including Elan and DABO & CO) won three.

Anya Kotova wins Young Communicator of the Year

Anya Kotova, Senior Account Director at Ketchum and based in Doha, has been awarded Young Communicator of the Year at the PR Week Awards 2014. Open to PR professionals in consultancies and in-house teams under the age of 30, the Young Communicator of the Year award honours outstanding achievement in handling PR campaigns, showing creativity, relevance to brief and results. The judges of the category also look for evidence of the nominees’ ability and willingness to extend their range of PR skills. Originally from Belarus, Anya joined Ketchum in 2007 and has previously worked with Ketchum New York and on clients which have included the Russian Federation, Gazprom, Troika Dialog, VTB Capital and FedEx.

“It’s an amazing feeling to be recognised by your peers for having your dream job,” says Anya. “The win is definitely a global team effort and I could not have done it without the support of a team that comes from the US, Canada, UK and the UAE.”

PRWeek UK Awards 2014 announce shortlist

The shortlisted entries for the PRWeek UK Awards 2014 have been revealed. The panel of judges will announce winners from the following categories  – Campaigns, Production & Promotion, Corporate & Public, People & Agencies and awards to be announced on the night, which include Lifetime Achievement and Campaign of the Year – sponsored by 4mediarelations. Included in the Peoples & Agencies category is the International Consultancy of the Year award, for which FleishmanHillard, Golin, Ketchum, Lewis PR and Weber Shandwick are shortlisted.

The winners will be announced on 14 October, in a ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
