Grazia welcomes new Fashion & Beauty Editor

Sophie Bew has joined Grazia Middle East as Fashion and Beauty Editor. Joining the team from London where she has spent the last year and eight months as Senior Fashion Assistant for the UK edition of Grazia, Sophie brings more than four years of experience contributing to some of the UK’s most widely distributed glossy magazines such as Marie Claire and Harper’s Bazaar. A self-confessed beauty addict, Sophie will now apply her extensive experience in both writing and styling to her new role at Grazia Middle East.

Arabian Business introduces press release function

ITP Publishing’s Arabian Business has officially launched its new online ‘Company News’ section. The free service – with a premium service option also available – allows companies and PR agencies to upload press releases directly onto the website, a significant addition to the Arabian Business offering as it creates more interaction and direct communication between businesses and readers.

In the announcement made by Arabian Business, Executive Editor Shane McGinley says, “This new facility is an excellent way for both companies and PR agencies to get across, in a very short space of time, any news announcements. This is available not just for GCC based firms but for news coming from around the globe.”

Gina Tadros joins ITP Publishing

Gina Tadros has been appointed as Editor-in-Chief of soon to be launched Hello! Arabia. Newly acquired by Arab Publishing Partners, part of ITP Publishing Group, Gina joins the Hello! team from Media Quest where she was Editor-in-Chief across the Marie Claire Arabia and Marie Claire Lower Gulf titles since 2012. Having worked on the Marie Claire publication since 2009, Gina boasts extensive editorial experience with lifestyle publications and will now head up the newest title in the Hello! brand, which is set to hit shelves May 1, 2015.

Grazia Middle East welcomes new Assistant Editor

Shitika Anand has been appointed as the Assistant Editor for Grazia Middle East. A freelance journalist with extensive experience across the fashion, beauty and lifestyle industry, Shitika has been published in Forbes Travel, The Huffington Post, Cosmopolitan, Instyle, CNN International and Women’s Health magazine, to name but a few.

Prior to joining the ITP Publishing team, Shitika was based in London where she held the positions of Fashion Assistant for SHOP magazine as well as Editorial Freelancer at Women’s Wear Daily, additionally managing the role of remote Managing Editor and Social Media Manager for Australia-based online platform AmeliaPhillips.com.au. Shitika’s expansive knowledge will now be applied to her new position with the weekly lifestyle publication, led by Editor-in-Chief Alison Tay.

Sonia Khosla joins Hello! Middle East

Sonia Khosla has joined the Hello! Middle East team as Sales Manager. Sonia boasts solid sales experience gained from working across media titles in the UK and UAE, and has moved across to APP’s newly acquired title from ITP’s Cosmopolitan Middle East, where she also held the position of Sales Manager. In this role, Sonia was responsible for generating new business and handling existing accounts, as well as developing the publication’s portfolio of offerings. Sonia will now apply her sales expertise to the Hello! Middle East brand, which is due to re-launch on April 2, 2015.

Leah Simpson joins Time Out Dubai

Leah Simpson has been appointed as the new Digital Editor at Time Out Dubai. With experience across a number of editorial positions in the digital sector, Leah’s previous roles include Online News Editor for Hello! Magazine in the UK, and Showbiz Reporter at Daily Mail in the US. As Digital Editor at ITP Publishing Group, Leah will oversee content for the digital section of the Time Out Dubai brand.

Time Out Dubai announces awards dates

Time Out Dubai has announced the dates for its 2015 Restaurant Awards and Music & Nightlife Awards. Both events will take place in March at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, with the Restaurant Awards scheduled for March 18 and the Music & Nightlife Awards scheduled for March 24.

Celebrating the past 12 months of hard work across Dubai’s restaurant and nightlife industries, the 2015 edition of the Restaurant Awards will see the event celebrate its tenth anniversary; to mark the occasion, Time Out Dubai has added a Restaurant of the Decade category to celebrate the longevity and influence of the show.

The venue for the Music & Lifestyle Awards After-Party will be revealed following the announcement of the shortlist, with the shortlists for both awards revealed in the next two weeks. The Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards shortlist will be announced on February 15 and the Time Out Dubai Music & NightLife Awards shortlist revealed on February 22. The shortlist announcement will be made via www.timeoutdubai.com.

Arabian Business welcomes new Chief Reporter

Sarah Townsend has joined the Arabian Business team as Chief Reporter. With over eight years of journalist experience, Sarah has contributed news and features to both national and specialist publications including the Financial Times, The Sun, The Daily Telegraph, Irish Times, Drapers and outdoor lifestyle website Wideworldmag.com. Sarah joins ITP Publishing from London where she was most recently Publications Editor at the Architects’ Journal, producing customer-led monographs, supplements and special reports in print and digital. In her new role, Sarah will be covering business news and current affairs across the GCC for the weekly business publication.

Katie Trotter joins Harper’s Bazaar Arabia

Katie Trotter has joined Harper’s Bazaar Arabia as Fashion & Beauty Director. With more than a decade of experience in the fashion industry, Katie has worked as a Fashion Editor at the Daily Mail and most recently at Luxury Magazine, as well as producing and styling more than 50 high-spec fashion editorials worldwide for print media in the luxury sector, in addition to styling celebrities, advertising campaigns and TV commercials. Having lived in the UAE for a number of years, Katie will now apply her skills at ITP Publishing to oversee all fashion and beauty content for the premium monthly publication.

Sofia Vyas joins Time Out

Sofia Vyas has joined the Time Out team as Features Editor. Previously Editor for online publication one8one magazine in Dubai, as well as a holding a number of editorial positions in the UK, Sofia brings regional and international experience to her new role.Having been with ITP Publishing for the past six months as Features Intern for Condé Nast Traveller Middle East, Sofia will now work across all guides and supplements for Time Out GCC.
