OK! Middle East promotes Lucy Wildman

OK! Middle East has promoted Lucy Wildman to the position of Acting Editor in the absense of Gemma White, who has commenced maternity leave. Lucy has over 12 years of experience in journalism in the UK as well as the UAE, and has been Deputy Editor of OK! Middle East since December 2013. In her new role as Acting Editor, she will oversee the day-to-day running of the magazine, as well as manage supplements and brand extensions.

Sarah Hedley Hymers promoted at ITP Publishing

Sarah Hedley Hymers has been promoted to the position of Editorial Director, Ahlan! Group. Having previously held the position of Group Editor, Ahlan! Group, Sarah will continue to oversee all titles including the flagship weekly Ahlan!, online portal Ahlan! LIVE, monthly title Ahlan! Qatar and the Hot 100 series. In addition, she will also focus on new projects and brand development.

Ahlan! Awards 2015 final nominees revealed

Following weeks of voting, Ahlan have revealed the top 10 nominees for each of the 20 categories in the Ahlan! Awards 2015. With awards for Best Fine Dining Restaurant, Best Bar and Best Club DJ, amongst others, the winners will be announced in June at the Ahlan! Awards 2015 ceremony.

The nominees in each category were narrowed down following weeks of initial online voting. One final round of awards voting has now commenced, and anyone can participate in order to support their favourite nominee from each category. To vote, head over to www.ahlanawards.com.

Helen Gaskell joins Telecom Review

Telecom Review welcomes Helen Gaskell as Senior Journalist. Having previously worked as a staff writer for ITP.net at ITP Publishing Group, Helen has over two years of writing experience and has made contributions to magazines such as Arabian Business, Arabian Computer News and Network Middle East. Her new role as Senior Journalist at Telecom Review will see her writing articles and features for the monthly magazine, published by Trace Media, targeting telecom industry leaders and executives in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

BNC Network appoints new Area Manager

Muhammad Melhem has joined BNC Network, a part of Industry Networks, as an Area Manager. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Muhammad has over three years experience in media and over ten years of experience in sales. In his most recent role, Muhammad worked with ITP Publishing on Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) Middle East where he was Advertising and Sponsorship Sales Manager, managing a portfolio of media sales. In his new role at BNC Network, Muhammad will cover sales and managing client accounts.

Yasser Al Amir joins Hello! Arabia

Hello! Arabia, a new Arabic monthly magazine, has welcomed Yasser Al Amir as Deputy Editor. In his new role, Yasser will be contributing to local news, features and interviews for the magazine, published by Arab Publishing Partners (APP), part of ITP Publishing Group.

Yasser joins Hello! Arabia from Mediaquest where he worked for almost three years, most recently as a journalist for Saneou Al Hadath, a monthly Arabic business publication. In this role, Yasser organised and chaired editorial meetings for content and feature ideas as well as conducting interviews with high profile individuals and CEOs.

“Joining APP is a good to move for me and is part of my career progression plan,” says Yasser. “I have always said love what you do, and I am fortunate enough to do a job where that very much applies.”

The Indian Trumpet welcomes Sabin Muzaffar

Sabin Muzaffar has joined The Indian Trumpet as Bollywood Columnist. In her new role, Sabin will be writing in-depth entertainment columns on the art of Bollywood movie-making, tracing from its routes to global success. Prior to joining The Indian Trumpet she worked as a freelance contributor for ITP Publishing and ,more recently, as an Executive Editor at Ananke

New joiners at Motivate Publishing

Changes have been been made to the Motivate team in the form of two new joiners. Shruti Srivastava has rejoined the company as Senior Sales Manager to Open Skies magazine. Shruti worked with the Open Skies team until three years ago, when she left to join digital company Onurfingers as Marketing Manager. Most recently she was Senior Sales Manager at ITP Publishing before rejoining Motivate.

Jessica Lane has joined Motivate as Deputy Sales Manager assigned to Good magazine. Jessica has 11 years of work experience in the UK, nine of which are in advertising sales.

Rahul Odedra joins Bloomberg Businessweek ME

Rahul Odedra has joined Bloomberg Businessweek Middle East (ME) as Deputy Editor. He will be working on the fortnightly publication under Editor Cathal McElroy.

Rahul previously worked as Editor of HotelierMiddleEast.com at ITP Publishing and contributed as Deputy Editor at Hotelier Middle East magazine. Prior to moving to Dubai in 2014, Rahul was based in the UK, working across different titles including Professional Adviser and The Moodie Report.

HELLO! Middle East welcomes Deputy Editor

HELLO! Middle East has appointed Claudia de Brito as Deputy Editor. With over nine years of experience in media, Claudia previously worked for ITV and 111 Pictures in London, before moving to Dubai. In her most recent role, Claudia was Catalogues Editor within ITP’s customer publishing division, where she worked across all print publications linked to exhibitions at Dubai Trade Centre such as Gulf Food, Beauty World and GITEX.

In her new role, Claudia will oversee HELLO!’s food section, while also contributing to additional features, interviews and local news.
