New Communications Director at TKD Lingerie

GCC retail brand, TKD Lingerie has appointed Andrea Gissdal to the role of Communications Director. Previously Associate Director at Four Communications, Andrea will now manage all marketing and communications activity for the brand across the region.

“As TKD Lingerie has evolved as a brand, so has our need for strategic, on-brand communications,” says Kate Kikano, Owner, TKD Lingerie. “It is a pleasure to welcome Andrea to the TKD Lingerie team, and I am looking forward to working together as we face the next phase of our development.”

 

MEPRA announces 2016 award winners

Winners of the Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) Awards 2016 were announced last night at the eighth annual awards event held at the JW Marriott Marquis. The ceremony recognised the most outstanding communicators for their best practices, which includes strategic approach, creative tactics and evaluation excellence. With over 240 entries, 17 notable winners were announced including Weber Shandwick MENA, winning Agency of the Year Award, Impact Porter Novelli, for the integrated Campaign of the Year and Atlantis the Palm, sweeping up the award for In-house Team of the Year. Other winners also emerging in multiple categories include Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Cicero & Bernay PR and Four Communications.

Nominees announced for MEPRA Awards

The Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) Awards 2016 shortlist has been announced. The awards have been divided into 17 categories – including Best Integrated Campaign, Best Use of Social Media and newly added category for in-house professionals, Outstanding Young Communicator – each award is designed to recognise exceptional returns on investments, creativity and strategic impact by agencies, corporates, teams and individuals. Shortlisted companies include: Four Communications, Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Edelman, Mubadala, Seven Media and Weber Shandwick MENA. The winners will be announced at the award ceremony on November 23, 2016 at the JW Marriott Marquis, decided by a panel of renowned industry judges.

“Judging this year was even more challenging than ever,” says Jamal Al Mawed, Head of Corporate Communications, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. “The industry has advanced in terms of its use of data analytics to measure the performance of campaigns. MEPRA AWARDS 2015 – Winners Announced

The Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) held its annual gala dinner last night in celebration of the most exciting communicators of 2015. Highlights of the evening included Memac Ogilvy Public Relations – Dubai, sweeping the floor of the Consumer Goods category for their work on “Innovation that Excites”, “Labels are for cans, Not People” and “#AmexExplorer: The Card That Takes You Places”.

Hill+Knowlton Strategies took gold in the Consumer Services category for their work on Flash Entertainment’s “YASALAM”, while in Healthcare & Services Memac Ogilvy Public Relations – Lebanon, impressed judges with its “Breast Cancer Awareness” campaign. House of Comms was awarded gold for its work on “JIM Will Fix It Nepal Relief” which fell under the Corporate Social Responsibility & Environmental PR category, and APCO Worldwide was recognised for its work for Noor Bank in the Financial PR sector.

The Dave Robinson Award for Outstanding Young Communicator of the Year (agency-side) went to Four Communications’ Mohanned Lafi with Ooredoo Kuwait’s Yasser Mohammad picking up the same for Outstanding Young Communicator of the Year (in-house). The Chairman’s Award was presented to Hill+Knowlton Strategies’ Sconaid McGeachin and Four Communications Group scooped Agency of the Year.

Four Communications to acquire Consolidated PR

Four Communications, part of the Four Communications Group, has made an offer to acquire 100 percent of Consolidated PR Limited, the UK public relations brand. The offer has been recommended by the board of Consolidated PR and more than 90 percent of shareholders have already agreed. The deal is expected to be completed successfully sometime in early October, 2014.

With the addition of Consolidated PR, Four Communications Group’s fee income would reach up to £15.5 million. Nick Clark, Managing Director of Consolidated PR would join the Four Communications Group operating Board, and Directors Will Holt, Elspeth Rothwell, Liz Fay and Anne Clarke would become Practice Directors. Upon completion, Consolidated PR would initially retain its brand whilst the companies plan for the future.
