Sayidaty launches AboutHer.co

Women’s magazine Sayidaty has launched AboutHer.co – an English language lifestyle platform that aims to provide relevant content to women globally, covering a wealth of diverse topics. The website will focus on the triumphs and challenges of women in the region and will feature reports, advice, interviews and news on celebrities, nutrition, fashion, beauty and décor trends.

“AboutHer.co is the result of a lot of research and several studies, which reveal there is a need to portray Arab women in a different, more realistic light, underlining all the ups and downs and highs and lows,” says Mohammad Al-Harthi, Editor-in-Chief, AboutHer.co, Sayidaty and Al-Jamila. “It plays a leading role in Sayidaty’s broader, intercultural dialog and is a pillar in the Sayidaty global initiative that aims to promote diversity.”

Sayidaty magazine to launch Arabic platform

Sayidaty is set to launch an online Arabic shopping platform known as Sayidaty Mall. Going live at the beginning of November, 2014, Sayidaty Mall will offer a new shopping experience, providing users with extensive and detailed information about stores, malls and brands across Saudi Arabia and the UAE, as well as sourcing credible information about where to shop for specific brands, what discounts and promotions are available, and will showcase the latest collections from popular brands. Sayidaty Mall will also be the first Arabic social commerce website, where subscribers can earn points based on interaction with the website – sharing products they have bought, reviews they have given and what products they have purchased online.

“Launching Sayidaty Mall in Saudi Arabia is one of the many steps we are working on to cover the Arab region and the demands of the Arabic shopper both on and offline,” says Mr. Alharthi, Editor-in-Chief, Sayidaty and Al Jamila Magazines. “The second step will be covering the United Arab Emirates, in addition to launching Sayidaty Mall applications on mobile devices which will provide distinguishing features for the Arabic shopper.”

The media partnership will include the Arab Woman Awards official publications being distributed with Sayidaty, on-site interviews with the winners featured on Sayidaty.com, post-event coverage of the event plus the magazine also plans to utilise the events to launch its own marketing initiative called ‘Sayidaty celebrates women’ which it will unveil at the Arab Woman Awards UAE in December at the Sofitel Abu Dhabi.

“Sayidaty is the region’s most popular Arabic language lifestyle magazine so it seemed a natural fit for us to partner with such an authoritative awards that so actively promotes the achievements of women,” says Mohammed Fahad Al-Harthi, Editor of Sayidaty. “We are a pan-Arab publisher so the Arab Woman Awards were particularly attractive to us due to their ‘across GCC’ vision.’

The Arab Woman Awards is the GCC region’s only pan-Arab awards to recognise Arab females in areas including business, charity, the arts and design. The awards now run annually in the UAE, Kuwait and Qatar with the first KSA awards launching in early 2014 with the support of Princess Reema Bandar Al-Saud. A Bahrain edition is planned for 2015.  The award winners are selected by a private Judges Board from each country which follow strict criteria to determine each winner.  Now in its fifth year the awards have recognised over 150 women to-date with leading businesswomen, doctors and educators including HE Fatima Al Jaber, Dr Manahel Thabet, Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Maktoum, Bothaina Al Ansari, Moudhi Al Hajiri , Sheikha Souad Al Sabah, and many more. The awards are presented at private, invitation only ceremonies with the winners and their achievements published in an official Arab Woman Awards commemorative book.

“Sayidaty has always been a great supporter of the awards through its post-event coverage and attendance,” says Sue Holt, Deputy Managing Director of ITP Consumer and founder of the Arab Woman Awards “We are delighted to formalise this partnership and create an annual calendar in which to jointly celebrate amazing women.”
