markettiers4dc Group of Companies welcomes Leanne Foy 

Broadcast PR specialists, markettiers4dc Group of Companies has appointed Leanne Foy to the role of Group Marketing Manager. Bringing a wealth of knowledge from across the region, Leanne most recently worked with PRCA MENA where she held the role of General Manager. In her new role, Leanne will be tasked with creating synergies between the companies and bringing a renewed focus on marketing to the global network.

“I am very much looking forward to starting at markettiers in a brand new group-wide international role,” says Leanne. “Over the past four years, the company has grown from strength to strength in the region and I am thrilled to be working with the team to take markettiers to new heights globally. ”

Hill+Knowlton Strategies wins at MENA Young Lions PR

PRCA MENA has announced Hill+Knowlton Strategies’ team of Mohamad Saber and Peter Hermina as the winners of the MENA Young Lions PR Competition for their ‘Half a Million Dollars’ campaign. The third year of the competition saw over 28 entries from teams of two, all creating effective and creative campaigns as per a brief from Education for Employment. Sponsored by the International Communications Consultancy (ICCO), the team will go on to represent the region at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity that will take place from June 17 – 21, 2018.

“It was inspiring to see the amount of passion, creativity and energy being put into the PRCA MENA Young Lions entries,” says Alex Malouf, Corporate Communications and Reputation Manager – Arabian Peninsula, Procter & Gamble, and part of the judging panel for the awards. “The short-listed entries combined sharp insights, innovative strategies and extensive use of measurement. The finalists made our decision very tough at the end of the day and I’m confident that the PRCA MENA Young Lions winners will do the region justice in Cannes.”

Shortlist for Young PR Lions MENA 2018 announced

PRCA MENA has released the shortlist for this year’s Young PR Lions MENA competition to find the best young PR professional in the region. Eight teams have been shortlisted to win the accolade this year and one of them will be heading to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity to take part in the international competition from June 17 – 21, 2018. The shortlisted teams include BPG Cohn & Wolfe, Edelman, Golin MENA, Hill + Knowlton Strategies, Q Communications and Weber Shandwick.

On March 19, the shortlisted teams will be asked to deliver a five minute presentation explaining their PR campaign and the winning team will be announced on March 20.

PRCA MENA announces award winners

Winners of the PRCA MENA Awards have been announced following the conclusion of this year’s awards ceremony on February 21, 2018. Held at the Renaissance Hotel Downtown, the awards focused on recognising and celebrating the best of the best PR and communication campaigns, teams and individuals across the Middle East and North Africa.

Winners included Brazen for Best PR Campaign Media Relations and Small Agency of the Year, Seven Media for Large Agency of the Year and Best PR Campaign Digital, Hill+Knowlton Strategies for Best PR Campaign Business to Consumer, Markettiers for Best PR Campaign Results on a Budget and BPG Cohn & Wolfe for Best PR Campaign Influencer Relations. The awards also honoured Lauren Brush, Senior Communications Consultant at Active DMC for Rising Star of the Year and Lucy O’ Brien, General Manager at FleishmanHillard for PR Leader of the Year.

PRCA MENA Awards 2018 now open for entries

Nominations for the PRCA MENA Awards 2018, hosted by Public Relations and Communications Association Middle East and North Africa (PRCA MENA), are now open for entries. The deadline for the entries is November 29, 2017, with the finalists to be announced in early 2018. The awards aim to recognise teams and individuals for PR and communications campaigns across the MENA region that can demonstrate creativity and effectiveness across 16 categories including Best PR Campain-B2B, Best PR Campaign – Digital, Influencer of the Year and PR Leader of the Year. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held on February 21, 2018.

PRCA launches Digital PR and Communications Report

PRCA MENA has revealed the results of its first Digital PR and Communications Report, produced in partnership with YouGov. Aiming to provide a benchmark of how the PR industry is performing with digital communications, the online survey was conducted in April 2017 with a sample size of 2,027 adults.

“The revolution of the digital world has influenced PR and Communications beyond doubt,” says Leanne Foy, General Manager, PRCA MENA. “Now is the right time to start benchmarking just how the industry is perfoming with digital communications, whether in-house or agency side.”

PRCA and TMN to launch training sessions

PRCA MENA has partnered with The Media Network to launch half-day face-to-face training courses in Dubai. The trainers are accredited and certified by PRCA and all delegates attending will receive a certificate upon completion of the course. In addition to this, a series of face-to-face training sessions in Arabic are due to launch later this year. The sessions are priced at AED650 for PRCA members, AED850 for Premium Members of The Media Network and AED1,000 for non-members.

Weber Shandwick wins at MENA Young Lions

PRCA announces Weber Shandwick as the winners of the MENA Young Lions Competition for their ‘#spareoneminuteforchange’ campaign. The second year of the competition held by PRCA saw teams create an effective campaign as per a brief given by Dubai Cares. Sponsored by ICCO, the team, Angelina Hedra and Viviana Villasmil will get to represent the region at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity that will take place from June 17 – 24, 2017.

PRCA MENA announces award winners

PRCA MENA has announced the winners of its inaugural awards ceremony that took place on February 08, 2017. Hosted at the H Hotel Dubai, the awards ceremony honoured and recognised individuals, teams and campaigns from the PR and communications industry across the Middle East and North Africa.

Winners included Q Communications for Best B2C Campaign, Weber Shandwick for Best B2B Campaign, Volkswagen for Best Influencer Relations, Instinctif Partners for Best Crisis Campaign, Dubai Multi Commodities Center for Best Integrated Campaign, MCS Action for Best Media Relations Campaign, Brazen for Regional Campaign of the Year, Golin MENA for Results on a Budget, Matrix Public Relations for Small Consultancy of the Year and Seven Media for Large Consultancy of the Year. Bassem Ayache, Associate Manager at Golin MENA won the Rising Star of the Year award and Ziad Hasbani, Chief Executive Officer at Weber Shandwick was honoured as PR Leader of the Year.

PRCA introduces PR competition

PRCA MENA has partnered with Cannes Lions to introduce the Young Lions PR competition to the region. The competition will open for entries from February 1 – 26, 2017, accepting teams of two members aged under 30. With the creative brief issued on March 1, 2017 and the shortlist announced on March 14, 2017, the MENA winners will be announced on March 23, 2017 following a final 24-hour competition that will take place on March 22, 2017.
