Entourage welcomes Hanan Shafey

Hanan Shafey has joined Entourage Marketing and Events as Senior Arabic Copywriter. With over 10 years of work experience in creative writing and translation, she most recently worked at Viola Communications as Content Writer and Translator. In her new role, Hanan will be developing press releases, news features and advertorials for Entourage, as well as working on content creation for websites and brochures, and supporting the agency’s PR department.

“I believe that words inspire good marketing,” says Hanan. “I have a great passion for writing which I am looking to translate into success in my new role with the Entourage team.”

 

Kate Grevillé joins Q Communications

Q Communications’ Abu Dhabi office has welcomed Kate Grevillé to the role of Middle East Director. Joining Q Communications from UK agency Tangerine, where she worked as Associate Director, Kate has over 10 years of experience in the communications industry and has lead global consumer campaigns for brands including Pizza Hut, Manchester United Soccer Schools and The North Face. Her new role will see Kate lead and grow Q Communications’ team in its recently launched Abu Dhabi office, she will be responsible for driving growth, managing client relations, day-to-day business operations and new business development, reporting to the agency’s Co-Founders and Directors, Katie Harvey and Elsa Roodt.

CPI Financial welcomes Jessica Combes

Jessica Combes has joined CPI Financial as Editor of Finance ME. Jessica joins the magazine from Johannesburg, where she worked as a Journalist responsible for her own photographs, covering events and conducting interviews as well as creating digital media. As Editor of Finance ME, Jessica will be conducting interviews, attending events, liaising with PR companies and writing features. She will also be charged with the layout of the magazine which will involve working alongside the Finance ME sales division and designer.

“When the opportunity came to work with CPI Financial came, I grabbed it and everything seems to have happened incredibly quickly since,” says Jessica. “It’s a really exciting challenge. I’m fortunate enough to work closely with Georgina Enzer – she is so generous with her knowledge, experience and time.”

Fairmont appoints new Director of Sales and Marketing

Hazem Aouad has joined Fairmont Dubai as Director of Sales and Marketing. With over 15  years of experience in hospitality, Hazen most recently held the position of Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing at Radisson Royal Hotel, Dubai and Radisson Blu Resort, Fujairah. As Director of Sales and Marketing, he will be responsible for the continuous development of Fairmont Dubai’s strategies in the market.

“I am thrilled to join Fairmont Raffles Hotels International (FRHI), a company that has shown significant and consistent growth year on year,” says Hazem. “I am looking forward to leading the Sales and Marketing team at Fairmont Dubai and very excited to take up this new challenge by building on the successes already achieved and developing the hotel’s strategies in the market.”

Susan Clowes joins Omnia

Branding and digital communications company Omnia has welcomed Susan Clowes to the role of Client Services Director for Digital Projects. Susan has over eight years of experience in Media, previously working as a Digital Strategist for H+K Strategies across MENA, Australia and India and, more recently, as in-house eCommerce Director for Dubai-based West LA boutique. As Client Services Director for Digital Projects, Susan will be fostering valuable client relationships as well as ensuring that projects are delivered to a high standard and that Omnia’s commercial objects are met. She will be working alongside Hollie Thomson, Director of Public Relations.

“Back working agency side and having joined Omnia’s renowned team, I’m looking forward to being at the forefront of digital developments for some of the largest and best known brands in the region,” says Susan.

Katie Coleman joins Motivate

Katie Coleman has joined Motivate Publishing as Sales Manager for The Week magazine in the Middle East. Joining the company from London, Katie most recently worked for Media Ten, where she was Advertising Sales Manager for Grand Designs Magazine and responsible for advertising on all platforms across the brand. In her new role, Katie will be looking after all advertising opportunities across the weekly, world affairs title.

“I am very excited about joining the Motivate team,” says Katie. “I am looking forward to getting out and meeting all of my clients and getting to know them individually. This will enable me to have a good understanding of their goals and objectives which will in turn allow me to use my knowledge of the publishing industry to create effective campaigns and see great results.”

Swiss Media Group welcomes new Senior Editor

Rania Habib has joined Swiss Media Group as Senior Editor. Formerly Assistant Editor at Canvas Magazine, Rania has over 10 years of experience in journalism and has most recently written for publications including Brownbook, Harper’s Bazaar Art Arabia and Selections while working freelance. As Senior Editor, she will be working on all three of Swiss Media Group’s flagship titles; Prestige, Stuff Worth Reading (SWR) and Equestrio. Rania will also be working on contract publishing projects for the company.

“This is an exciting time to join the Swiss Media Group, and I am looking forward to working on its varied portfolio of print titles, as well as their digital offerings,” says Rania.

Forbes Middle East welcomes Yasmin Al Heialy

Yasmin Al Heialy has joined Forbes Middle East as a Reporter. A recent Graduate in French Literature and Media, Yasmin previously worked as a Journalist for AME info at Mediaquest, where she prepared reports on business-related projects. As a Reporter at Forbes Middle East, she will be working across the monthly print magazine as well as the publication’s website, where she will be covering breaking news relevant to high-level company executives and investors.

Aziza Communications welcomes Samar Khouri

Luxury lifestyle PR and events agency Aziza Communications has welcomed Samar Khouri to the role of PR Executive. Samar joins Aziza from Shamal Marketing, where she handled mainly food and beverage accounts, including ROGO’S, Fume and Qbara. In her new role, Samar will be working across a variety of accounts such as Lee Stafford, Toni&Guy, Jelena Bin Drai, Evans, Dorothy Perkins and River Island.

PHD welcomes new Associate Director

Media and communications agency, PHD UAE has welcomed Edmond Gebara to the role of Associate Director. Previously Planning Manager at Mindshare Dubai, Edmond brings over four years of media experience to his new role. As Associate Director, he will work on the agency’s largest planning team, managing both the digital and offline accounts for key clients.
