Pinpoint makes new appointment

Dubai-based media company, Pinpoint Media Group has appointed Harshani Dinushika to the role of Marketing Assistant and Graphic Designer. A graduate from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing with Philosophy, Harshani most recently worked with Noviplus as Marketing Assistant. In her new role, she will join and assist Pinpoint Media’s marketing team as well as work on digital projects.

“Pinpoint Media Group does everything from web development, to designing and publishing and I felt that joining this company would be a great opportunity for me to get a deep insight into the digital world and expand my set of skills,” says Harshani.

O2 welcomes new CEO

Dubai-based integrated communications agency, O2 has appointed Sami Eid to the role of CEO. With over 18 years of experience in marketing and communications, Sami previously worked with Orbit Communications Company, CNBC Arabia and most recently with Bloom Holding. In his new role, he will oversee all of O2’s communications activities and work towards the agency’s growth with a focus on its flexibility, expert analysis and progressive approach towards its clients’ needs.

“As a boutique agency, O2 is not shackled by adherence to big holdings and as such we can reflect the agility and creativity needed for success in the local and regional markets,” says Sami.

Matt Fortune joins Jumeriah

Dubai-based luxury brand Jumeirah has appointed Matt Fortune to the role of Cluster Social Media Manager. With over ten years of experience, Matt previously worked with Motivate Publishing as Web Editor for What’s On magazine and most recently with ITP Media Group as Head of Digital Content for Time Out magazine. In his new role, he will lead the content and social strategy for hotels and restaurants in the brand’s Dubai.

Votek makes new appointment

Dubai-based software company, Votek has appointed Joanna Cousins to the role of Head of Communications and Business Development. With over six years of experience in client relations and business development, Joanna previously worked with Provocateur and most recently with Vii Dubai. In her new role, she will be handling the account for educational toy business line, Loujee as well as overseeing the branding, advertising and PR product displays and photo shoots for Votek’s clients across the GCC.

“It’s an exciting time to join Votek, with our products launching on different platforms and new products in the pipeline, using technology previously unseen in this region,” says Joanna. “I’m looking forward to engaging new and existing clients across the GCC to help them understand the benefits of our products and solutions and integrate them into their own business environment.”

TishTash makes new appointment

Marwa Mohamed has joined TishTash Marketing and Public Relations as PR Assistant. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Communications, Marwa launched her own blog, The Beauty Bunny in 2014. In her new role, she will support the team in consolidating press coverage, pitching for features as well as assist in events and social media content writing.
“It was through her blog that we first noticed Marwa, so when we were looking for some support in the office, she felt like a natural fit,” says Natasha Hatherall-Shawe, Founder and Managing Director, TishTash Marketing and Public Relations. “We’re excited to have her on our team.”

New Creative Director at Create Media

Dubai-based digital communications agency, Create Media Group has appointed Vincent Drevet to the role of Creative Director. With over 16 years of experience in creative communications, Vincent previously worked on various campaigns for organisations such as Coca Cola, Jaguar and Virgin Atlantic. In his new role, he will oversee all creative outputs and operations and work towards reaching new creative developments for the agency.

Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons makes new appointment

Watch and jewellery retail group, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons has appointed Majed Kahil to the role of Marketing Manager. Previously Head of Events at Mediaquest Corp., Majed will now oversee all marketing operations for brand across the region.

“After eight years of working in media, I’m very glad that I have joined one of the biggest luxury watch and jeweller retailers in the UAE, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, as a Marketing Manager,” says Majed.

Dave joins Dance FM

Dubai-based radio personality, Dave Cleary has joined 97.8 Dance FM as a Radio Presenter. Previously presenter for the ‘Mornings with Dave’ show at Radio 2, part of Gulf News Broadcasting, Dave will now host his own show, ‘Loud & Cleary’ that will air on weekdays from 4pm-8pm. Set to launch on February 26, 2017, the show will also cover ‘Destination Dave’, a travel feature created by Dave himself.

“It’s a privilege to be part of such a great team at the station,” says Dave. “As compared to the existing radio stations, Dance FM is something different for the market here in the UAE.”

Pinpoint Media Group welcomes Hershey Pascual

Dubai-based media company, Pinpoint Media Group has appointed Hershey Pascual to the role of Digital Editor. With over 18 years of experience in journalism, Hershey previously worked with Forbes Middle East as Senior Editor and most recently with Adam&Eve magazine as Online Content Editor. In her new role, she will work on Pinpoint Media Group’s digital platform across LaFemme, Good Taste, Luxury SQFT and Debonair magazines.

New Op-Ed Columnist joins Arab News

Saudi Arabian daily newspaper, Arab News has welcomed Yasar Yakis to the role of Op-Ed Columnist. Previously Turkey’s Foreign Minister, Yasar is recognised as a founding member of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party and most recently worked at Oxford University as Senior Associate Member. In his new role, he will write a weekly column on Turkish, Arab, regional and international affairs that will be featured on Arab News’s print and online editions.
