New Account Director at House of Comms

Integrated creative communications agency, House of Comms has appointed Kate Bevan to the role of Account Director. With nine years of experience in the UK and the UAE, Kate offers a holistic approach to marketing having worked across brand, digital, experiential and advertising for a portfolio of clients including Coca-Cola, Nestlé and Majid Al Futtaim. In her new role, she will join House of Comm’s senior management team and focus on delivering strategically led brand and digital communications solutions.

Brazen PR makes new appointment

Aya Ahmed has joined Dubai-based PR and content marketing consultancy, Brazen PR as Head of Arabic and Content. With experience in the media and PR industry, Aya previously worked with Bloomberg Businessweek Middle East as Marketing Executive and most recently with Mojo Group Dubai as Head of Content Production and Media Relations. In her new role, she will strategically strengthen Arabic content and media relations, as well as creative concepts for the consultancy’s PR and social media accounts including Atlantis, The Palm, Wendy’s and Bio-Oil.

New appointments at Time Out GCC

Time Out Abu Dhabi welcomes Paul Clifford to the role of Editor. Formerly Group Editor of Guides and Food, Paul will now lead the team of Deputy Editor, Liz Cookman; Food Editor, Vanessa Fitter and Section Editor, Chris Maxwell. Shaikh Saleh, previously Digital Marketing Executive for the Time Out GCC group will now take on a new role, which will focus specifically on Time Out Abu Dhabi.

Following Melanie Smith’s appointment as Deputy Editor in January 2017 and Tim Skinner’s appointment as Deputy Digital Editor in March, Time Out Dubai has appointed Amy Mathieson, former Guides Editor at Time Out GCC, to the role of Food and Features Editor. Previously Editor at Time Out Doha, Sofia Vyas joins the Dubai team as Music & Nightlife and Art Editor. The new members will work with the existing team of Editor, Holly Sands; Digital Content Executive, Jeffrey Casiño and Editorial Assistant, Rodelito Mamuad.

New appointment at Coffee Communications

Dubai-based brand consultancy and communications agency, Coffee Communications has welcomed Joelene Kenneth to the role of Public Relations Assistant. A recent graduate of Murdoch University Dubai, Joelene holds a degree in Communications with a major in public relations. In her new role, she will play an integral role in supporting the agency’s founders, Natasha Eskedt and Bianca Ellis and work on account administration across PR and social media.

Mahitab Hosny joins House of Comms

Integrated communications agency, House of Comms has appointed Mahitab Hosny to the role of Account Manager. With experience in the PR industry and having been UAE for over 20 years, Mahitab graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in public relations from the American University of Sharjah and most recently worked with DABO & Co, where she was an integral member of the consumer team offering her expertise in F&B, hospitality and fashion. In her new role, she will join the team as bilingual Account Manager to work across House of Comms’ Arabic and English portfolio of clients across the Middle East.

Dubai Lynx makes new appointment

Dubai Lynx has appointed Kamille Marchant to the role of Event Manager. Kamille has experience in the events industry having founded ThoughtFire, her own events and PR agency in South Africa and most recently worked across healthcare exhibitions such as Arab Health and Building Healthcare in the MENA region. In her new role, she will attend events for the advertising and communications industry and take the lead on event operations as well as support the delivery of Dubai Lynx to the highest possible standard.

Felicity Stokes joins AW Rostamani

AW Rostamani Group has appointed Felicity Stokes to the role of Communications Marketing Manager. With experience in the PR and communications industry, Felicity previously worked with Think Liquorice as Account Manager, where she managed public relations, events, social media and developed brand strategies. In her new role, she will report to the company’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Mustafa Dada and work across internal and external communications as well as marketing efforts. She will also lead events for the company’s subsidiaries by managing media relations, building executive advertisement strategies, creating campaign concepts and assisting with the launch of their social media platforms.

Destinations of the World News appoints new Deputy Editor

Luxury travel magazine, Destinations of the World News, has appointed Laurel Munshower to the role of Deputy Editor. With experience in the region’s media and PR industry, Laurel previously worked with ITP Media Group’s travel publication, Conde Nast Traveller Middle East as a part of the editorial launch team, before joining Destinations of the World News from 2015 – 2016 as Features Writer and most recently working with TCApr as PR Executive. In her new role, she will aid in the editorial duties of both the magazine and the website by focusing on exceptional and aspirational luxury, travel and lifestyle experiences as well as news.

New appointment at Percept Gulf

Percept Gulf Dubai has welcomed Malaika Fernandes to the role of Assistant Manager – PR. With almost four years experience in the communications industry, Malaika previously worked with Burson Marsteller as Consulting Associate with its India team. In her new role, she will work across Percept Gulf’s communications campaigns and contribute towards strengthening its 360 delivery capabilities.

Active welcomes new Senior Communications Consultant

Dubai-based agency, Active (Digital.Marketing.Communications) has appointed Lauren Brush to the role of Senior Communications Consultant. With over ten years experience in the corporate communications and media field, Lauren previously worked with the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) as Media Relations Manager and most recently with APCO Worldwide as Senior Consultant, where she offered her expertise on thought leadership, global positioning and digital as well as traditional media across a portfolio of clients. In her new role, she will work on driving the company’s B2B and B2C communications campaigns as well as contribute towards the agency’s growth as an integrated marketing communications consultancy.
