Leo Burnett Dubai makes new appointment

Leo Burnett Dubai, part of Publicis Groupe has appointed Joëlle Jammal to the role of Deputy Managing Director. With over 25 years of experience in advertising across the MENA region, Joëlle previously worked across brands such as McDonald’s, Bel and Ferrero and most recently worked with Leo Burnett Jordan where she held the role of Managing Director. In her new role, Joëlle will play an integral part in the growth of the agency while also being the key point of contact for senior clients across the organisation.

“I am excited by the new challenge of growing our business and the relationships I have built over the last ten years with the team at Leo Burnett and our clients,” says Joëlle. “We will continue to grow our multi-channel offering to our clients, and ensure a holistic approach to creative across all touch points.”

New promotion at DDB Dubai

DDB Dubai has appointed Iris Minnema to the role of Managing Director. Having joined DDB Amsterdam as Senior Account Manager in 2007, Iris moved to Dubai and most recently held the position of Business Director, where she worked across clients such as Johnson & Johnson, McDonald’s and Dubai Parks and Resorts. In her new role, she will report to Hubert Boulos, CEO of DDB Middle East and lead the operations of the Dubai office.

Serviceplan Middle East launches Mediaplus Espresso

Serviceplan Middle East’s media arm Mediaplus has acquired local agency Espresso, to form Mediaplus Espresso. The newly-formed mid-sized agency will work on new ways of connecting brands and consumers through platform strategy, data analytics and precision targeting, with the aim to enable the delivery of successful campaigns for brands. Mediaplus Espresso will be headed up by Azhar Siddiqui who will take the role of Managing Partner, having 15 years of regional experience managing the media buying portfolios of several, large, global and local accounts including; McDonalds, Mastercard and Unilever.

“Espresso sprang from our desire to break away from the ‘network’ culture and to draw clients’ attention back to the added value of strategy and planning,” says Azhar. “Partnering with Mediaplus is an ideal move, since we become part of a wider group, enabling us to compete more effectively with global networks, while retaining our independence and working with like-minded entrepreneurs from within the Serviceplan Group.”
