Eddie Taylor joins Esquire Weekend

Eddie Taylor has joined ITP Publishing as Editor of Esquire Weekend in Dubai. He joins the team from NPI where he was Special Projects Editor, managing the company’s portfolio of B2B titles predominantly in the hospitality and travel sector, as well as helping to shape the company’s digital and social media strategy. In his new role, Eddie will oversee editorial for the weekly magazine.

Chanelle Tourish joins Time Out Dubai

Chanelle Tourish has been appointed as the Nightlife, Arts & Culture Editor for Time Out Dubai. Chanelle joins the team at ITP from Virtuozity magazine, where she held the position of Associate Editor for the last year and a half. In addition to this, Chanelle brings a range of experience to her new role having worked across print media in the UAE, UK and Ireland.

MEP Middle East Awards deadline announced

The nomination deadline for this year’s Construction Week MEP Middle East Awards has been announced as October 1, 2014. Construction Week‘s 8th annual MEP Middle East Awards recognises the leading engineering accomplishments from the Middle East’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing sectors in the region.

Categories for this year’s awards include – Contractor of the Year, Consultant of the Year, Specialist Contractor of the Year, Boutique Consultant of the Year, Health and Safety Initiative of the Year, GCC Project of the Year, Mechanical Project of the Year, Electrical Project of the Year, Public Health Project of the Year, Mechanical Engineer of the Year, Electrical Engineer of the Year, Young Engineer of the Year, Project Manager of the Year and Executive of the Year.

VIVA Beauty Awards 2014 winners announced

The winners of the 7th annual VIVA Beauty Awards have been announced following the ceremony which was held on Thursday May 22 at the JW Marriot Marquis Dubai. Hosted by TV presenter and entrepreneur Zahirah Variawa, this year saw 23 VIVA Beauty Awards categories presented across prestige and mass market products.

In the prestige market, the night’s highest accolades went to Chanel, a winner in two categories: Best Foundation – Chanel Perfection Lumiére Velvet Smooth-Effect Make-up, and Best Perfume – Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Eau De Parfum. Other winners in the Prestige market included: Best Mascara – Lancôme Hypnôse Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara; Best Nail Varnish – Essie Nail Colour; Best Anti-Ageing Product – Clarins Double Serum; Best Hair Product – L’Oréal Professionnel Absolut Repair Masque; Best Face Moisturiser – Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF30; Best Lipstick – Christian Dior Rouge Dior, and Best Body Product – Kiehl’s Créme de Corps.

In the mass market, the awards were split into the following categories: Best Perfume – L’Occitane Magnolia & Mure; Best Mascara – Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara; Best Nail Varnish – OPI Nail Lacquer; Best Anti-Ageing Product – Pond’s Age Miracle BB + Cream; Best Hair Product – TRESemmé Salon Silk Conditioner; Best Face Moisturiser – Olay Total Effects Day Cream; Best Lipstick – Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick; Best Body Product – The Body Shop Shea Body Butter; Best Hair Salon – JetSet, and Best Nail Salon – N.bar.

For the Editor’s Choice Awards, Chanel took home yet another win with Chanel Allure Eau De Toilette named as the Editor’s Choice Cult Classic. In addition to this, the Editor’s Choice for Most Innovative Product went to Philips ActiveCare Jojoba Straightener, and the Editor’s Seal of Approval was awarded to Max Factor Whipped Creme Foundation.

Ahlan! Awards Abu Dhabi 2014 winners revealed

The winners of the Ahlan! Awards Abu Dhabi 2014 were announced yesterday during an awards party held at 01NE Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The annual celebration presented 16 awards to Abu Dhabi’s most sought-after attractions, businesses and personalities, and were selected by Ahlan! readers through nominations which were split into two phases, initially voting for a longlist and nominating again to compile the shortlist.

The winners of the Ahlan! ITP announces Harper’s Interior Design Awards

ITP Consumer group, publishers of Harper’s Bazaar Interiors has announced the planning for the inaugural Harper’s Bazaar Interiors Design Awards 2014. The event will be held in October 2014, and forms part of Downtown Design Dubai’s official programme.

The event will feature 12 award categories, ranging from statement lighting and textiles, to fashion-inspired furniture and hot new technology. The entries for each category will be shortlisted by an impartial judging panel that will include an internationally renowned designer, an accomplished creative director and the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief. Further voting will be conducted online, where readers will be able to vote for their favourites in each category.

“The awards will recognise the most successful commercial players in the marketplace, while also celebrating the most promising emerging talent from the region and beyond,” says Rue Kothari, Editor-in-Chief, Harper’s Bazaar Interiors. “We’ll seek to highlight the best and most innovative products, furniture brands, retail brands and designers.”

Talking about the Best Emerging Designer category, Rue adds, “As the leading consumer interiors title in the region, we understand the importance of supporting and incubating new talent, as well as to be a vocal advocate of the local design industry. So we’ll be putting out a call for new talent from all over the world to submit original designs based on a Middle Eastern theme; giving the winner a unique opportunity to be mentored by an event partner and to see their winning designs put into production.”

3 days left to vote for VIVA Beauty Awards 2014

Voting for the 7th annual VIVA Beauty Awards will close May 10, 2014. This year there are 21 VIVA Beauty awards, which will be presented across 12 overall categories in the prestige and mass market respectively. These include – Best Foundation, Best Perfume, Best Mascara, Best Nail Polish, Best Hair Salon, Best Nail Spa, Best Anti-Ageing Product, Best Hair Product, Best Face Moisturiser, Best Lipstick, Best Body Product and the Editor’s Choice Cult Classic. The shortlist for each category was handpicked by the VIVA team, along with a beauty panel that included make-up artist Sophie Leach, presenter Gabriela Miloda and blogger Zahra Lyla Pedram.

The VIVA Beauty Awards will be held on May 22 at the JW Marriot Marquis Dubai, and the winners will be picked by readers who can see the shortlist and cast their vote at www.vivabeautyawards.com.

Sarah Jacotine joins Logistics Middle East

Sarah Jacotine has joined ITP as Editor of Logistics Middle East. Sarah previously worked in public relations as Account Manager at Aziza Communications, and prior to this as Communications Officer with Norwich City Council in the UK.

As Editor of the B2B magazine, Sarah will report on all aspects of the logistics industry in the region, including IT, warehousing, distribution and transportation.

Harper’s Bazaar to launch first Arabic edition

Leading fashion publication Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, part of ITP Publishing, is to launch Harper’s Bazaar: The Season – its first ever definitive guide to the fashion season in Arabic. Launching in late September this year, the oversize book will showcase the best of both international and regional A/W14 collections, from couture and ready-to-wear to accessories and beauty, and will become a coffee table essential that engages readers for the first time in the national language.

Arabian Business announces Power 100 2014

For the tenth consecutive year, Arabian Business has compiled the names of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Arabs. Unlike previous years, the 2014 list has been broken down into nine categories – Leaders; Pioneers; Legends; Heroes; Geniuses; Creatives; Entertainers; Thinkers and Generation Next.
