Women’s Health Middle East available now

The first issue of Women’s Health Middle East is now available on newstands with an eye-catching image of Hollywood beauty Jessica Alba adorning the front cover. The new ITP Consumer-run publication, has a print run of 16,000 copies and is currently available in English language.

Headed up by Yi-Hwa Hanna and assisted by Deputed Editor, Ashley Lane, the publication focuses on health, nutrition and fitness, while also covering fashion, beauty, advice, travel, food and lifestyle. The launch will be celebrated this Tuesday night with a lavish party to welcome the first issue.

Winners announced for Arab Woman Awards KSA

The Arab Woman Awards KSA 2014 winners were honoured at a red carpet gala reception held at the Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh. The awards ceremony was attended by over 300 women from the Kingdom. This ceremony marks the first ever Arab Woman Awards to be held in KSA, however the awards have been held in three other GCC countries in the past five years including; the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Qatar. The awards taking place in Saudi Arabia this year, aim to provide a culturally acceptable platform to recognise sixteen inspirational winners from diverse industries including Business, Education, Literature, Entrepreneurship, Humanitarian, Art and Fashion.

“Since launching in the UAE in 2009, the Arab Woman Awards have recognised some of the region’s most outstanding women and provided a platform for further achievements,” says HRH Princess Reema Bandar Al Saud, patron of the Arab Woman Awards KSA 2014. “Accordingly, it was an honour to be asked to be the patron of the inaugural Arab Woman Awards in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I am pleased to see these awards highlighting the endeavors of many hardworking Saudi women in their various fields, and also providing inspiration for the next generation of young Saudi women.’’

Established in 2009 by ITP Consumer, the Arab Woman Awards are now held annually in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait now Saudi Arabia.

ITP Consumer to re-launch VIVA magazine

ITP Consumer is to re-launch VIVA magazine to become the region’s only handbag sized magazine specifically targeting working women aged 25 years plus. After 10 years in the region, the home-grown title will tackle issues relevant to the modern women in the Middle East. The new look will be revealed in the March issue and celebrated with its International Women’s Day event on March 6, 2014.

“We are excited about the new-look VIVA, which will be now available in convenient handbag size and is the perfect accompaniment for the woman on the go,” says Anita Quade, Editor, VIVA magazine. “It is a big year for VIVA, which celebrates its 10 year anniversary in September and what better way it mark this milestone than with a modern makeover.”

Katie Heskett joins Gulf News Magazines

Previously Publisher at ITP Consumer Publishing for the Ahlan! Group of magazines and websites, Katie Heskett has joined Gulf News Magazines as Associate Publisher for the Women’s Lifestyle and Homes & Interiors brands.

Currently focusing on Aquarius and InsideOut magazines and websites, Katie is also working on new launches in 2014.

Ahlan! Hot 100 to celebrate 10th anniversary

It has been announced that the annual coffee table book Ahlan! Hot 100 will be published on March 6, 2014, with 100,000 copies distributed across the UAE with Ahlan! and Ahlan! Arabia, and as a stand-alone publication in all leading bookstores throughout the month. Ahlan! Hot 100 celebrates the most talked-about people in the UAE and features entrepreneurs, style icons and personalities who are shaping the landscape of the Emirates.

The Ahlan! Hot 100 has its own dedicated microsite at www.ahlanlive.com and will have its own App and digital edition available for download.

This year sees ITP’s proudest product celebrating its 10-year anniversary, which will be marked with a lavish party on Wednesday 5th March, for an exclusive VVIP guest list. The event will be held at Warldorf Astoria, Palm Jumeirah.

Michaela Williams joins Good Housekeeping team

Michaela Williams has joined the Good Housekeeping Middle East team as Deputy Editor. Formerly Hotels Editor for QANTAS The Australian Way magazine, Editor of beauty blog Lather Rinse Repeat and Online Beauty Contributor for Cosmopolitan Australia, Michaela takes over the role from Yi-Hwa Hanna, who recently moved across to Women’s Health Middle East.

Chris Newbould joins The National

Chris Newbould has been appointed as Film Correspondent for The National’s Arts & Life section, covering regional and international festivals, the Middle Eastern film industry and all the latest Hollywood, Bollywood and international releases. Previously Editor of Digital Studio Middle East, Chris has covered TV, film and music writing in the UK for The Guardian’s City Life and Weekend Guide.

“Having covered the regional film industry for Digital Studio since 2010, I hope to hit the ground running in my new role,” says Chris. “There are big ambitions for film making in the Middle East at the moment, particularly in the UAE. I’m looking forward to building on the relationships I already have, as well as expanding my remit both locally and internationally, for one of the region’s most respected publications.”

Team start work on Women’s Health Middle East

The Women’s Health Middle East team have now commenced work on the new ITP Consumer-run publication, with Yi-Hwa Hanna taking the reins as Editor-in-Chief. Previously Deputy Editor of Good Housekeeping, Yi-Hwa will be joined by ex-Shape Editor, Ashley Lane, after the title ceased publication in December. Gareth Lloyd-Jones is publisher and will oversee all commercial opportunities for the brand. The first edition of Women’s Health Middle East will hit the newsstands on March 1, 2014.

While the publication will focus on health, nutrition and fitness, the women’s glossy will also cover fashion, beauty, advice, travel, food and lifestyle.

ITP Consumer launch Arab Woman Awards KSA

ITP Consumer has announced the launch of the Arab Woman Awards KSA 2014, which is set to take place on January 29, 2014.  Following the success of the Arab Woman Awards UAE, Qatar and Kuwait for five consecutive years, the organisers have introduced the first Arab Woman Awards KSA which will take place at a prestigious ladies-only ceremony at the Al Faisaliah Hotel Riyadh under the guidance of HRH Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud.

Launched in 2009, the Arab Woman Awards aim to provide a platform to raise public awareness of the significant achievements of Arab women. Since its inception, the awards have recognised over 170 accomplished females from sectors including business, education, art, literature, sport, fashion, health, humanitarian, media and entrepreneurship.

‘The launch of the Arab Woman Awards KSA is another exciting chapter in these awards,” says Sue Holt, ITP Consumer Deputy Manager Director. “Having visited the country for the first time recently I have already met highly educated, determined and successful women so am looking forward to working with the judges to showcase the wealth of talented women that Saudi Arabia has to offer.”

The Arab Woman Awards KSA 2014 is being hosted in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, Sayidaty, Zahra Breast Cancer Association and Rawaj International.

Claire Carruthers joins Grazia Middle East

Claire Carruthers has joined ITP as the new Fashion and Beauty Editor of Grazia Middle East and Grazia Bahrain. Claire has spent five years working across numerous UAE titles including iQ, Insider, Time Out Abu Dhabi, Emirates Woman and most recently Rolling Stone Middle East, where she developed and managed the style pages, creating the benchmark for Rolling Stone worldwide. Claire will oversee all fashion and beauty content at Grazia.
