Top selling celebrity magazine, Ahlan! – part of ITP Publishing – has launched a new weekly TV show, Ahlan! on Dubai Life. Hosted by Deputy Editor JJ Anisobi and TV presenter cum vlogger Anika Morjaria, the show airs every Saturday at 9pm, on Du Channel 423. Giving an insider overview on the latest celebrity gossip, fashion mishaps and must-see videos, Ahlan! on Dubai Life will complement the print title and online platform, while also giving a more in-depth look into VIP events and happenings in the UAE.

Gillian Fletcher promoted at ITP

Gillian Fletcher has been promoted to the role of Art Director at ITP Publishing Group. She brings over eight years of experience with her, having previously worked with Bauer Media and The National Magazine Company. Gillian was most recently Art Editor for Ahlan! Magazine, and in her new role she will be responsible for Ahlan!, Ahlan! Qatar and the Hot 100 series.

Sarah Hedley Hymers promoted at ITP Publishing

Sarah Hedley Hymers has been promoted to the position of Editorial Director, Ahlan! Group. Having previously held the position of Group Editor, Ahlan! Group, Sarah will continue to oversee all titles including the flagship weekly Ahlan!, online portal Ahlan! LIVE, monthly title Ahlan! Qatar and the Hot 100 series. In addition, she will also focus on new projects and brand development.

Shaheen Nouman joins ITP’s Hospitality Group

Shaheen Nouman has joined ITP Publishing’s Hospitality Group as Staff Writer. Most recently, Shaheen assisted the team on Ahlan! Arabia, and prior to this held a role in marketing and communications with Dubai-based, high-fashion retailer ValleyDez. Shaheen is also a Founding Member of fashion, lifestyle and fitness blog Cherry Cross. In her new role, Shaheen will produce content – both in print and online – across the Hospitality Group’s titles which include Hotelier Middle East, Caterer Middle East and Arabian Travel News. In addition to this, Shaheen will participate in the organisation and execution of various events and conferences held by the Hospitality Group throughout the year.

Naomi Chadderton joins Ahlan!

Naomi Chadderton has joined Ahlan! as Acting Fashion and Beauty Editor. Prior to joining the team at ITP Publishing, Naomi was most recently Account Executive for M+M Management in London, and has extensive experience in the region, having also worked as Editor for The Dubai Mall Magazine, Fashion Editor for Concierge magazine and Junior Fashion & Beauty Editor at Grazia Middle East. Naomi will now be looking after all fashion and beauty content for the weekly lifestyle publication.

The winners of the Ahlan! Awards Abu Dhabi 2014 were announced yesterday during an awards party held at 01NE Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The annual celebration presented 16 awards to Abu Dhabi’s most sought-after attractions, businesses and personalities, and were selected by Ahlan! readers through nominations which were split into two phases, initially voting for a longlist and nominating again to compile the shortlist.

The winners of the Ahlan! Awards Abu Dhabi 2014 included: Best Hotel – Emirates Palace; Best Fine Dining – Zuma, Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi; Best Visitor Attraction – Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque; Best Shopping Mall – Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi; Best Brunch – Friday Marina Brunch, Intercontinental, Abu Dhabi; Best Sporting Event – Abu Dhabi F1; Best Spa – Anantara Spa, Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara; Best Music Event – The Rolling Stones (February 2014); Best Ladies Night – Jazz Bar & Dining, Hilton Abu Dhabi; Best Radio DJ – Kris Fade (The Kris Fade Show, Virgin Radio Dubai); Best Bar – Jazz Bar & Dining, Hilton Abu Dhabi; Best Club DJ – DJ Rabih Karam (aka DJ Angelo); Best Nightclub – 01NE, Yas Island; Best Personality – Kris Fade, Virgin Radio Dubai and Publisher’s Recognition Award – Harmeek Singh, PLAN B.
