In the Middle East, Bayer is represented by Bayer Middle East, a wholly owned and fully consolidated subsidiary of Bayer AG based in the United Arab Emirates, and its representative and scientific offices in Egypt, Jordan, Cyprus, and Saudi Arabia. In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Bayer MaterialScience AG and Pearl Insulation Materials Industries LLC established a polyurethane systems house joint venture called Bayer Pearl in 2007. Moreover, Bayer has its own company in Iran. In other countries in this region, Bayer’s products are marketed by distributors and third-party agencies. Bayer has nearly 800 employees in this region and the various Bayer activities in the Middle East accounted for nearly EUR 500 million in sales in 2012.
