BNC Publishing appoints new Group Director

Dubai-based publishing agency, BNC Publishing has appointed Samer Alloush to the role of Group Director. With over eight years of experience in the media industry, Samer previously worked with ITP and then Motivate, where he handled local and international agencies and most recently worked with Plan B Advertising, offering solutions ranging from media planning and execution to project management. In his new role, he will oversee the editorial and commercial growth of BNC Publishing’s hospitality publications and platforms by managing all sales activities and the editorial team for Catering News ME, Hotel News ME, Leader in Hospitality Awards, GM Debate, Leader in F&B Awards, F&B Forum and Executive Housekeepers Conference.

Motivate welcomes new Editor

Lauren Steadman has joined Motivate Publishing as an Editor for its Connect division. Previously an Editor at ITP Publishing, Lauren has over 15 years of experience in journalism, five of which have been spent in the Gulf region. In her new role, she will edit Flashes magazine, writing and commissioning features concerning education, development, health and sustainability across the Middle East. Lauren will also be working as Contributing Editor for The Week magazine.

Samer Alloush joins Motivate Publishing

Samer Alloush has been appointed Senior Sales Manager at The Week. Samer most recently worked as Senior Sales Manager for OK! Middle East, and previously was the Senior Sales Manager at ITP Publishing for three and a half years across titles Refining & Petrochemicals ME, Oil & Gas ME, Utilities ME as well as Oil & Gas Al Arabiya.

In his new role with Motivate Publishing, he will sell advertising space, work to reach sponsorship targets and establish long-term relationships with clients.

“I am looking forward to starting fresh with Motivate,” says Samer. “I always believe that you should not be afraid of new challenges and making a change. I think joining The Week is a great opportunity for me.”

Katie Coleman joins Motivate

Katie Coleman has joined Motivate Publishing as Sales Manager for The Week magazine in the Middle East. Joining the company from London, Katie most recently worked for Media Ten, where she was Advertising Sales Manager for Grand Designs Magazine and responsible for advertising on all platforms across the brand. In her new role, Katie will be looking after all advertising opportunities across the weekly, world affairs title.

“I am very excited about joining the Motivate team,” says Katie. “I am looking forward to getting out and meeting all of my clients and getting to know them individually. This will enable me to have a good understanding of their goals and objectives which will in turn allow me to use my knowledge of the publishing industry to create effective campaigns and see great results.”

Motivate Publishing welcomes Dean Carroll

Motivate Publishing has appointed Dean Carroll as Group Editor of the Business division of titles. Dean has worked as a senior journalist across print and digital media for 15 years, before spending 12 months working in marketing and communications for the technology firm Centralway, in Switzerland. His editor’s blog for was recognised by the Reporting Europe Prize, and he has had academic work published in a number of noted journals. In his new role, Dean will oversee titles including Gulf BusinessThe Week, Campaign Middle East and Business Traveller Middle East.
