Lifestyle magazine Villa 88, part of APP Media Group welcomes Yuvitha Naran to the role of Editor. With experience in media and journalism, Yuvitha most recently worked with Mediaquest Corp. across magazines such as Marie Claire Arabia, Haya and The Dubai Mall Magazine, where she managed the production of fashion and beauty photo shoots while also assisting with styling. In her new role, she will contribute to Villa 88’s brand development and oversee its editorial content by applying her skills to both writing and styling. She will also create content strategies for the growth of the magazine across the region.
Architectural Digest Middle East, part of APP Media Group has appointed Talib Choudhry to the role of Editor-in-Chief starting September 2017. With extensive knowledge in the magazine industry, Talib started out in the UK with ELLE’s features team and moved on to Sunday Times Style as Interior Editor. He also worked with Arena as Associate Editor and with ELLE Decoration as Deputy Editor, after which he most recently worked with Telegraph Media Group as Design and Interior Editor, and with ELLE Decoration as Editor-at-Large. In his new role, he will oversee all of Architectural Digest Middle East’s editorial content and contribute to its strategic development across the region.

Conde Nast Traveller Middle East, part of APP Media Group has appointed Sarah Hedley Hymers to the role of Digital Director. With over 27 years of experience in journalism, Sarah previously worked with Ahlan! Group where she joined as Group Director and most recently held the position of Editorial Director. In her new role, she will oversee all digital operations for Conde Nast Traveller Middle East and develop creative strategies to execute across all digital platforms.
The Arab Woman Awards UAE 2016 is set to take place on Saturday, December 10, 2016 in Sharjah in honour of the late Vice-chairperson of NAMA Women Advancement Establishment, Ameera BinKaram. The private event will include an exclusive video of Ameera as a special tribute from the establishment itself. The awards will also focus on raising public awareness of the significant achievements by Arab women and to provide young women with inspirational role models.
“Like everyone we were shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Ameera BinKaram,” says Sue Holt, Executive Director, ITP Publishing. “Ameera was a previous Arab Woman Award winner, who then became the chair of our judges’ board. ITP Publishing Group has launched its new digital division, ITP Live. The new division is set to extend the digital footprint of ITP and APP Media Groups’ brands across the region. The new division aims to provide new content creation opportunities for commercial partners and will focus on the region’s social influencer agencies, video content creation and digital sales representation as well as ecommerce and live events.

The Media Network has appointed Shelly Mistry to the role of Editorial Assistant. Having previously assisted on a number of lifestyle publications including Citizen K Arabia and Citizen K Homme Arabia, part of Gulf News Publishing and a number of APP Media Group titles including The Rake Middle East, Revolution Middle East, Condé Nast Traveller Middle East, Stylist Arabia and the Hello! group, she will now assist with all editorial including news and features for the B2B media platform. Shelly will also manage client relations with The Media Network’s Premium Members as well as help manage the website and social media content.

APP Media Group is set to host the first Young Arab Awards on December 6, 2016 in the UAE. The awards aims to recognise young Arabs for their outstanding achievements in a number of fields including business, science and social media. They will also announce a winner for the Young Arab of the Year Award 2016. Nominees will be shortlisted by a panel of judges, including renowned author, Caher Khazaal, former UK Ambassador to Lebanon, Tom Fletcher and CEO, OMG MENA, Elie Khouri, as well as special guest of honour, Roger Waters from Pink Floyd. Condé Nast Traveller Middle East, part of APP Media Group, has welcomed Lou Fay to the role of Art Director. Previously a freelance Creative Director at the Daily Creative in Australia, Lou has over 20 years of experience in media and has worked for publications such as Australian Good Taste, Dolly and New Woman. In her new role, Lou will design cover pages for the monthly luxury travel publication, as well as produce artwork and create the layout for Condé Nast Traveller Middle East.
Stylist Arabia, part of APP Media Group, is set to become a monthly glossy title as of August 1, 2016. Previously a weekly publication, the magazine will continue to be aimed at a target audience of intelligent, sophisticated and style-conscious readers, by maintaining a focus on inspirational female figures, culture, careers, food and travel. Kerry McDermott will remain Editor and Stylist Arabia will be available, for free, at the beginning of every month from five star hotels, airline business class lounges, spas, salons and universities.
The Rake Middle East and Revolution Middle East magazines, part of APP Media Group, have welcomed Jola Chudy to the role of Acting Editor. Previously Group Editor at Pinpoint Media Group, where she worked across the company’s luxury lifestyle and fashion magazines, Jola will now be responsible for producing both The Rake and Revolution in the Middle East, working across features and content.
