Debonair welcomes new Editor

Men’s luxury lifestyle title Debonair, part of Pinpoint Media Group, has appointed Eduan Maggo to the role of Editor. Previously Country Guides Editor at Gulf News Publishing, in his new role, Eduan will oversee all editorial content across the print and online publication.

“After years of honing my versatility, I’m quite excited to be returning to one of my first loves – men’s fashion and lifestyle. What drew me to this magazine is its unique voice, it presents intelligent articles in a visually striking manner,” says Eduan. “I’d say Debonair and I share a fashion philosophy that favours timeless style over fleeting trends, and as such I’m looking forward to overseeing the next phase of its evolution.”

The Rake and Revolution welcome new Acting Editor

The Rake Middle East and Revolution Middle East magazines, part of APP Media Group, have welcomed Jola Chudy to the role of Acting Editor. Previously Group Editor at Pinpoint Media Group, where she worked across the company’s luxury lifestyle and fashion magazines, Jola will now be responsible for producing both The Rake and Revolution in the Middle East, working across features and content.

Surena Chande joins La Femme

Surena Chande has been appointed as the new Digital Content Writer for La Femme magazine’s online platform. Remaining with the Pinpoint Media Group team, Surena moves across from Good Taste magazine where she was a Writer for the past year, overseeing the content and production for style and home as well as contributing to the events, travel and food sections. In her new position, Surena will produce fresh and exciting content for the La Femme website, in addition to managing La Femme’s social media pages.

“Digital journalism has been a path that I have been eager to pursue since university,” says Surena. “So I’m very excited to embark on this new journey with a magazine brand as respected as La Femme.”

Debonair magazine to launch online platform

Following a successful launch last month, Debonair magazine has announced plans for the publication’s online platform – www.debonaironline.com –set to go live this coming November. Debonair is a Dubai-based print and online publication dedicated to men’s luxury lifestyle. The monthly publication strives to deliver independent, informative and visually impressive content, with features that celebrate the notion of timeless style rather than fleeting fashions. The new title circulates 16,400 copies across the UAE, offering a focus on arts & culture and showcasing the best in property, precision instruments and travel destinations.

The Debonair platform will include features that have run in the print publication, as well as online-only content, which is designed to create a more interactive experience. The website will feature, video, sound bites and a variety of images to offer a more comprehensive view of the stories and further the print offering. Significantly, the Debonair website will also host an online store for a soon-to-be-launched menswear brand that has been created by the Debonair team.

“Launching Debonair has been like filling a blank canvas with ideas for a new approach to men’s lifestyle journalism,” says Jihane Miller, Editor, Debonair. “We celebrate the enduring appeal of style as opposed to the fleeting nature of trends, and look to bring a more diverse offering in terms of subject ranges and cultural agenda. We’ve set out to produce a magazine that is confident, stylish and charming – the very definition of debonair.”

Gemma Champ joins La Femme

Gemma Champ has been appointed as Acting Editor for La Femme, covering maternity leave for Pinpoint Media Group’s Group Editor, Jola Chudy. Working remotely from the UK, Gemma will oversee all content until Jola’s return on October 19, 2014. Having previously lived and worked in the UAE, Gemma has specialised editorial experience in luxury fashion for various UAE and international titles.

“I’m really looking forward to taking on such a beautiful magazine,” says Gemma. “La Femme has a genuine point of difference in an exciting women’s magazine market and I hope to maintain the high editorial standard that Jola Chudy has already set here.”

Sandra Lane joins Revolution Middle East

Sandra Lane has joined Arab Publishing Partners (APP) as Editor-in-Chief of its new launch, Revolution Middle East. Sandra previously served as Editor of Revolution Middle East when Pinpoint Media Group was the licence-holder, and she will now take charge of the luxury goods and watches magazine. It is the latest title to be launched by APP, and will be published quarterly within the GCC from September 2014.

“I’m delighted to rejoin the Revolution family and excited to be working with APP to take the Middle East edition of the magazine to greater success,” says Sandra. “With the strength of APP behind Revolution, we have great plans for its future throughout the region and I’m really looking forward to getting started.”
