Harper’s Bazaar makes new appointments

Monthly fashion and lifestyle title, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, falling under the umbrella of ITP Publishing Group, has welcomed Alexandra Venison and Gina Tadros to its team.

Previously Fashion & Beauty Director at Viva, ITP Publishing Group has promoted Alexandra Venison to the role of Digital Editor at Harper’s Bazaar Arabia. In her new role, Alexandra will be primarily responsible for fashion, beauty and celebrity digital content for the title. Gina Tadros, former Editor-in-Chief at Hello! Arabia, has been appointed as Editor of the title’s Arabic website, which is due to launch in 2017. Gina will oversee all content creation for Harper’s Bazaar Arabia‘s new digital platform.

Further media closures across the UAE

Following the recent announcement that local newspaper 7days will cease operations this month, more print titles have declared closure by the end of 2016. Falling under the umbrella of the ITP Publishing Group, homegrown women’s monthly, Viva will discontinue operations after more than 11 years in publication, with their final issue on news stands now. In addition, Arab Publishing Partners’ quarterly titles Hello! Arabia and Hello! Indo Arabia have ceased publishing.

Hello! Arabia secures royal exclusive

Hello! Arabia has secured an exclusive interview with Her Highness Sheikha Futtaim Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, daughter of the Ruler of Dubai set to be published next week. The interview features HRH Sheikha Futtaim speaking about her passion for horses, painting and arts as well as the progress made in the UAE for women’s empowerment, whilst paying tribute to the vision of both her father, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the Founder of the UAE, HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Hello! Middle East welcomes Sarah Jimaa

Sarah Jimaa has joined the Hello! Middle East team as Fashion & Beauty Editor. Having moved across from NPI Media, Sarah previously worked as Fashion & Beauty Writer on The Dubai Mall Magazine, Concierge Magazine, and contributed to the launch of myconcierge.com.

Handling all things fashion and beauty related, Sarah will now be covering trend reports, features and photo-shoots, across all three editions of Hello!Hello! Middle East, Hello! Indo-Arabia and Hello! Arabia – published by Arab Publishing Partners.

Yasser Al Amir joins Hello! Arabia

Hello! Arabia, a new Arabic monthly magazine, has welcomed Yasser Al Amir as Deputy Editor. In his new role, Yasser will be contributing to local news, features and interviews for the magazine, published by Arab Publishing Partners (APP), part of ITP Publishing Group.

Yasser joins Hello! Arabia from Mediaquest where he worked for almost three years, most recently as a journalist for Saneou Al Hadath, a monthly Arabic business publication. In this role, Yasser organised and chaired editorial meetings for content and feature ideas as well as conducting interviews with high profile individuals and CEOs.

“Joining APP is a good to move for me and is part of my career progression plan,” says Yasser. “I have always said love what you do, and I am fortunate enough to do a job where that very much applies.”

Gina Tadros joins ITP Publishing

Gina Tadros has been appointed as Editor-in-Chief of soon to be launched Hello! Arabia. Newly acquired by Arab Publishing Partners, part of ITP Publishing Group, Gina joins the Hello! team from Media Quest where she was Editor-in-Chief across the Marie Claire Arabia and Marie Claire Lower Gulf titles since 2012. Having worked on the Marie Claire publication since 2009, Gina boasts extensive editorial experience with lifestyle publications and will now head up the newest title in the Hello! brand, which is set to hit shelves May 1, 2015.

Arab Publishing Partners sign Hello! Middle East

Arab Publishing Partners (APP) is taking over the licensing agreement of Hello! Middle East. A significant re-launch of the brand is scheduled for the second quarter of 2015, with interactive digital editions and a dynamic social media presence that will mark a major shift in Hello!‘s presence in the GCC.

“We are very excited at the re-launch and APP’s plan to launch two new premium monthly titles – Hello! Arabia and Hello! Bollywood – targeting educated, affluent and discerning women,” says Anthony Luke, Licensed Editions Operations Manager, Hello! “This will extend our global reach to 33 editions worldwide.”
