MENA Effie Awards winners announced

Winners of the MENA Effie Awards has been announced following the conclusion of its tenth edition of the awards that took place on November 7, 2018. Held at Armani Downtown, the awards focused on bringing together agencies and clients from the regional industry to celebrate the best marketing campaigns. The awards saw special wins for FP7/DXB and FP7 MENA for Most Effective Advertising Agency Office and Network of the Year while other winners include Nissan for a Grand Prix Award for their #SheDrives campaign by TBWA/RAAD.

FP7/MENA wins big at Global Effie Awards 

Full-service advertising agency, FP7/MENA has received the Global Effie Award for the Most Awarded Agency Network in a Single Regional Competition. The awards took place on May 31, 2018 in New York City. The agency secured the award for FP7/DXB’s ranking as #2 Most Effective Agency Office Globally and FP7/CAI – FP7’s Cairo office– ranked #8 Most Effective Agency Globally.

FP7/DXB makes new appointment 

Full-service advertising agency, FP7/DXB has appointed Olly Robinson to the role of Executive Creative Director. With a wealth of experience in advertising, Olly previously worked in the UK and most recently with FP7/DXB as Senior Creative Director. In his new role, he will continue to build the agency’s creative reputation with clients and oversee the development of new initiatives within the creative department.

“I am stoked to be named as FP7’s Executive Creative Director,” says Olly. “In FP7’s 50th year the agency is still going from strength-to-strength, we’re winning new business and doing effective, award-winning work for our clients. Held at the Armani/Pavilion, Armani Hotel Dubai, the awards focused on establishing a gold standard of creative marketing brilliance across the region. The event saw major wins for FP7/CAI winning the Grand Prix, while other winners include PHD Dubai for Most Effective Media Office of the Year and FP7/DXB for Most Effective Agency Network of the Year.

“2017 saw tighter budgets, increasing pressure to deliver revenue and growing competition in the industry, but despite this high-pressure environment, marketing professionals have upped the ante with new levels of innovation, creativity and resourcefulness,” says Alexandre Hawari, Co-CEO, Mediaquest. “This is what we look for in our award-winners, who have all successfully faced the challenges by finding ever more strategic and targeted ways to reach audiences and deliver a solid return on investment.”

FP7/DXB appoints new Managing Director

Full service advertising agency, FP7/DXB has appointed Jon Marchant to the role of Managing Director. Jon most recently worked with McCann Central UK, where he held the roles of Managing Director and Board Director. In his new role, he will focus on meeting FP7/DXB’s growth goals as well as building on its reputation for creative solutions and campaigns.

Dubai Lynx award winners announced

Dubai Lynx, the International Festival of Creativity has announced winners for this year’s awards ceremony that took place on March 8, 2017. With over 2,500 entries across 17 categories, the awards celebrate excellence in creative communications in the MENA region.

Pierre Choueiri, Chairman and CEO, Choueiri Group was honoured with the ‘Dubai Lynx Advertising Person of the Year Award’ and Coca-Cola Middle East was awarded the ‘Dubai Lynx Advertiser of the Year’. Winners of the Grand Prix awards included:

“The Dubai Lynx awards exists to celebrate and champion creativity, while reflecting the ever-shifting branded communications landscape,” says Terry Savage, Chairman, Dubai Lynx. “This year saw submissions from 22 countries, including a first from Sudan and an increase in some more of the traditional categories such as ‘Print and Outdoor’. The evening brought to a close the three-day festival, which was attended by over 2,300 creative communications professionals this year and the work that was awarded really demonstrates the essence of creativity in the region.”
