MEPRA Award winners announced

The winners of the Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) Awards have been announced following the conclusion of its tenth edition of the awards that took place on November 28, 2018. Held at the JW Mariott Marquis, the awards focused on celebrating and recognising impactful and creative campaigns in the Middle East. The awards saw wins for Brazen PR for Small Agency of the Year and Hill+Knowlton Strategies for Large Agency of the Year.

“This festival of creative communications has been the biggest and most successful event in MEPRA’s history, reflecting the growing maturity of the industry in the region,” says Ray Eglington, MEPRA Chair. “We’ve been delighted to welcome such an impressive array of international experts and to celebrate the excellence of the award-winning campaigns.”

Tonic International appoints new Managing Director

Dubai-based independent creative agency, Tonic International has promoted Jacqui Hewett to the role of Managing Director. Having joined Tonic International in 2015 as General Manager – Media, Jacqui worked on transforming the agency’s media division into a fully-fledged digital operation. In her new role, she will oversee Tonic International’s group of companies across all departments, including branding, communications, digital and media, ensuring everyone works in an integrated way as one team. She will also manage the agency’s new focus and strategy to further build digital capabilities that will deliver a fully immersive experience for the clients and consumers.

Brazen expands Dubai team

Dubai-based PR agency, Brazen has made two new appointments and one promotion following its expansion. Bronte Saulle has been appointed to the role of Account Executive, bringing with her experience in journalism and events planning. In her new role, she will look after the press office for clients including, The Walt Disney Company MENA and Atlantis, The Palm. Also joining the team is Noha Ghobrial, who will take the role of Social Media Executive, having previously worked across several F&B brands and most recently with Rotana Cinema TV. In her new role, she will look after social media for brands such as Wendy’s and Disney On Ice.

Basma Emad has also been promoted internally to the role of Senior Account Executive having most recently held the role of Account Executive, where she handled Arabic media and influencers. In her new role, she will continue work across the clients’ portfolio and provide support to generate results.

Brazen PR makes new appointment

Aya Ahmed has joined Dubai-based PR and content marketing consultancy, Brazen PR as Head of Arabic and Content. With experience in the media and PR industry, Aya previously worked with Bloomberg Businessweek Middle East as Marketing Executive and most recently with Mojo Group Dubai as Head of Content Production and Media Relations. In her new role, she will strategically strengthen Arabic content and media relations, as well as creative concepts for the consultancy’s PR and social media accounts including Atlantis, The Palm, Wendy’s and Bio-Oil.

“Aya has a wealth of expertise across the MENA region working with brands such as Mercedes Benz, Rivoli and Bioderma,” says Louise Jacobson, Managing Partner, Brazen PR. “Her strength of creating and executing successful PR and digital campaigns coupled with her deep understanding of the regional landscape will be a fantastic addition to Brazen and we are really excited to welcome her to the team.”

Brazen welcomes new Account Manager

 Brazen has welcomed Jennifer Love to the role of Account Manager. Previously an Account Manager at Grayling Dubai where she led the Shedd account and worked on the Hilton Worldwide brand across the Middle East, Jennifer has worked in PR for over six years, in London as well as the UAE. In her new role, she will work across the agency’s roster of clients including; Wendy’s, Bio-Oil and Wadi.
