Creative and technology agency launches

Creative and technology agency, Omobono launches in UAE. Established in 2001 in the UK, Omobono delivers global projects across an expanding service offering for a roster of clients including DMCC and Sadara and will now open its first office in the UAE. The agency will also see the appointment of Hadley Newman to role of Managing Director with over ten years of experience to support clients with specialist business expertise.

Cheil unveils new global identity

Cheil Global Network is rolling out a new ‘The Network Built for Now’ identity across its entire network of agencies. Developed by London-based design consultancy johnson banks, Cheil’s new identity was designed to reflect its growth as a network of specialist agencies, embodying both the entrepreneurial spirit of its origins in Seoul and its place in the Asian tech revolution. The global positioning of Cheil as The Network Built for Now is also intended to strengthen the network’s reputation for specialism in brand communications, retail, innovation, social and design.

Cheil MENA promotes Omar Al Jabi

Cheil MENA has promoted Omar Al Jabi to the role of Executive Creative Director. Omar, who has held the role of Creative Director for the last two years, will continue to work on local and regional campaigns for brands such as Samsung, Coke Studio and Renault. His new role will also see him working closely with Cheil’s regional and global offices, in order to enhance creativity, inject new talent and expand the agency’s creative offerings and portfolio.

Elevision Media partners with Bloomberg

Bloomberg has signed a content agreement with Elevision Media to provide dynamic financial data and market-moving headline news, which will be streamed over its outdoor LED digital display adjacent to the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Gate Building.

Known as the ‘DIFC ticker’, the digital display is the longest of its kind in the Middle East. Under the agreement, it will broadcast a wide range of Bloomberg content complementing the Nasdaq Dubai market data already on display, including indices and currencies data.

“The DIFC ticker is designed to deliver valuable content to Dubai’s financial hub and there is no better or more relevant content producer than Bloomberg,” says Niall Sallam, Founder and CEO at Elevision. “With its up-to-the-minute news and market data featuring on the ticker, we can create an effective and dynamic advertising opportunity for brands. Likewise, Bloomberg will enhance its ability to communicate with its target audience using a unique platform in an iconic location.”

The financial data and news headlines supplied by Bloomberg will be supplemented by DIFC branded content, as well as a revolving stream that will allow brands to leverage the digital media platform with targeted messages suited to a professional demographic.

 

Koji Watanabe joins newly launched Dentsu MEA

Dentsu Aegis Network has appointed Koji Watanabe as Managing Director of newly launched advertising agency, Dentsu MEA. Reporting to Michael Nederlof, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network MENA, Koji will take charge of account and product management for Dentsu’s clients in all 54 MEA markets and aim to employ the global network’s synergies within the region. Having been with the network for over 20 years, Koji joins Dentsu Aegis Network MENA from Japan after spending extensive time in Dentsu Alpha in Vietnam, as well as in the Phillipines. As Managing Director, Koji will look to expand and build Dentsu MEA’s client base, significantly with Japanese clients looking to expand into the Middle East and Africa, as well as with local brands in the region.

The launch of Dentsu MEA takes Dentsu Aegis Network MENA’s tally of brands up to six, along with Carat, iProspect, Isobar, Posteroscope and Vizeum.

Cheil MENA appoints new Digital Director

Cheil MENA, part of South Korea’s largest advertising network, Cheil Worldwide, has appointed Anis Zantout as its new Regional Digital Director. Anis brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously held multi-faceted roles across the MENA region, which includes the positions of Digital Media Director for Initiative and Regional Director at DigitasLBi. As part of the Cheil MENA team, Anis will manage the growing digital department and will play a pivotal role in driving new business, by developing the agency’s digital credentials to develop performance media with the rise of programmatic advertising.
