MENA-based entertainment network, OSN has been named Media and Marketing Company of the Year at the Gulf Business Awards 2017. The awards aim to celebrate companies and business leaders across nine industries including tourism, media and marketing and recognised OSN for its leadership position in the entertainment industry across the region.

ASDA’A Burson-Marsteller wins big at the Stevies 2017

ASDA’A Burson-Marsteller has been awarded the Grand Stevie Award at this year’s International Business Awards (IBAs). The awards, known as the Stevies aims to honour and recognise the achievements and positive contributions of companies and working professionals worldwide. This year’s awards saw ASDA’A Burson-Marsteller win five gold, 14 silver and nine bronze across the PR and marketing categories earning them the Grand Stevie Awards for their record. The awards ceremony and gala dinner will take place in Barcelona, Spain on October 21, 2017.

Ahmad Itani named top 50 Game Changers of PR 2017

Ahmad Itani, Chief Operating Officer at Cicero & Bernay Public Relations (C&B) has been recognised by PR News as one of the Top 50 Game Changers of PR for 2017. The Top 50 Game Changers of PR is a global ranking that celebrates individuals who have been accelerating the expansion and growth of brand communication across the world. The list honoured Ahmad for his leadership role in C&B and for pushing the boundaries of communication to new heights, as well as extending beyond traditional media to reach out to new contributors that would enhance the MENA network capabilities.

MEPRA 2017 now open for entries

The 2017 Middle East PR Association (MEPRA) Awards are now open for submissions. The award will bring together small agencies, in-house teams and global players in the Middle East PR business, with an aim to recognise and serve as a benchmark for the most inspiring and creative communications work in the industry. This year’s awards will have 20 campaign categories and will see the launch of two new categories, ‘Crisis Communications’ and ‘Best use of Influencers’ to celebrate the best campaigns from across the region. Entries for the awards will be open until October 12 with the candidates shortlisted to be announced on November 5 and the winners to be revealed at the 2017 MEPRA Awards Gala set to take place on December 6 at the JW Marriot Marquis Hotel, Dubai.

B4U Plus named top most viewed Asian channel in the Middle East

Market research company, IPSOS has named B4U Plus as the second most viewed and preferred Asian channel in the Middle East in a recent survey conducted. The Hindi entertainment TV channel was recognised for its engaging content and popularity among females age 25 – 44 in the region as well as for being free to air from the Niles platform.

The 13th EMEA SABRE Awards has announced FleishmanHillard as the Middle East PR Consultancy of the Year. The awards ceremony, which took place on May 23, 2017, recognises Superior Achievement in Branding Reputation & Engagement.

CARMA wins at AMEC

Media intelligence firm, CARMA secured three awards at the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC) annual awards that took place in Bangkok on May 18, 2017. Along with two gold awards for ‘Best multi-market reporting’ and ‘Best use of integrated communication measurement’, CARMA’s CEO, Mazen Nahawi was also awarded the ‘AMEC Lifetime Fellowship Award’ during the two-day global summit.

Start wins at Transform MENA Awards 2017

Consumer experience design consultancy, Start was awarded the Grand Prix at the Transform MENA Awards 2017 last night at the Waldorf Astoria, Palm Jumeirah. The event also saw Start win five gold and four silver awards including Best place or nation brand, Best visual identity for travel, leisure and tourism sector, Best use of typography and Best internal communications during a brand development project for their work on the rebrand of Yas Island. The event aimed to recognise the best practice in corporate, product and global brand development across categories such as strategy, execution, content and evaluation across the region.
