Magnet welcomes Elsa Esmeraldo

Dubai-based photography production company Magnet, part of Emicon Media, has welcomed Elsa Esmeraldo to the role of Talent Curator. Having just moved to the Middle East, Elsa has over ten years of experience in the advertising industry across creative agencies in South Africa. As Talent Curator, she will be responsible for sourcing artistic talent for Magnet’s portfolio of clients.

BPG Bates welcomes Abraham Varughese

Regional advertising, events, activation and design agency BPG Bates, part of the BPG Group, has appointed Abraham Varughese as Executive Creative Director. Abraham has over 18 years of experience in marketing and advertising, and most recently worked as Creative Director at Leo Burnett in Dubai.

In his new role, Abraham will work across all of BPG Bates’ accounts, heading the Creative Department. He will also form a part of the agency’s leadership team.

“I am looking forward to the challenge of defining the creative product of BPG Bates and hope to take advantage of the agency’s historical strengths, agile structure and integrated model especially in digital and media,” says Abraham. “Ultimately my goal is to make good work an organic outcome of well-thought-out everyday assignments.”

As a Senior Journalist at Bloomberg Businessweek, Shayan will cover technology news and events as well as politics and economics for the publication in print, special reports and online.

Cohn & Wolfe welcomes Kate Joynes-Burgess

International brand communications agency Cohn & Wolfe has appointed Kate Joynes-Burgess as its new Head of Digital and Integrated Marketing for the UK and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). With 15 years of experience in digital communications Kate most recently worked as Head of Digital, EMEA, at Weber Shandwick, where she consulted on and delivered digital products for corporate, non-profic, CSR and public affairs clients across the region.

In her new London-based role, Kate will be responsible for driving Cohn & Wolfe’s digital transformation as well as building its capability in creative, integrated marketing communications. Kate will also be in charge of building closer collaboration and partnerships with the wider EMEA Digital Innovation Group.
